You guys know the very delayed uair where you "scoop" the other guy who is lying in the ground? Man that's hard to get. Depending on the opponent of course, some are easier to hit than others (DK easy, Fox not).

Landing detection isn't all there yet. Most characters makes collision with the ground at there feet (some other, slightly before), and not at their knees like in the first 3 Smash games. Some characters here during certain attack make contact with the ground before they physically touch it. Really nerfs SHFF Up-airs, especially for taller characters.

Oh is that what it is? Probably explains why falling uair with Fox is also hard to do.

Yeah it's really hard to pull off. You have to fast-fall and do it in a really small time window, at a good angle. It's a shame because it sends them at such a good angle for a followup.

Need help dealing with Falcon's dash-hop Nair. I don't know if it's just my character, but that move is really hard to stop for me. It beats all my moves and outranges my character.

Only if Falcon doesn't hit me with the tip of the move. Most good Falcon players hit me with the tip most of the time, and this kind of discourages me to try and Chomp it.

Found a Falcon tech, and I can finally share it now that gfycat is co-operating.

https://gfycat.com/ScrawnyLateJuliabutterfly

It is what it looks like. Simply a shorthop sideB on an opponent above you on a platform, and then double jump to knee/other aerial. Works as low as 70% on floatier characters, doesn't work on fast-fallers until extremely high percents (unless they miss a tech or you read their tech).

Uses:
  • Platform tech-chase that covers the whole platform if positioned correctly.
  • Allows followups at higher percents that stomp would have too much knockback for.
  • Mixup from platform techchasing with stomp.
  • Swag

Drawbacks:
  • It's slower than simply sprinting up and stomping.
  • If you miss it, it can sometimes be punished.
  • It's more difficult to use than other similar setups.

Neat use of raptor boost! This is so cool, def a swag combo

Some Falcon Punch data that I've also put together through messing around in training mode:
[In the following combos I've had to discern for myself whether the opponent can tech or not, as training mode counts hits while the opponent is in knockdown as 'true combos']

The Tapion Punch combo (rising stomp on opponent on platform -> falcon punch) is a true combo from roughly:
75% to 95% on Fox.
85% to 100% on Falcon.
80% to 95% on DK.
74% to 76% on Link.

Straight up stomp -> falcon punch without the assistance of a platform is a true combo from roughly:
80% to 95% on Fox.
85% to 105% (rip) on Falcon.
77% to 78% on DK.

These combos are all easy as piss to do, simply stomp and then spam neutral B and you should get it.
There may also be certain specific percents at which these work on other characters, which I couldn't be bothered to find quite frankly. Good luck styling!

Jab->knee also starts comboing at around 70% on Puff (so this would be later on every other character, and it'll probably kill her if you jab at 90%. So, if you are ever having problems killing any character just start looking for jabs. They come out on frame 2 (almost as fast as shine!), and they also link into uair sooner than knee (cuz of difference in startup). This works since most people don't DI the jab away (they aren't prepared for its speed + its a jab lol), and then you get uair and even knee.

I want to main Captain Falcon and thought I would start with learning approaches, what are some of his approaches that work well? Right now I just use Down-Special but it gets punished very easily unless they are at high percentages. Side-Special has low priority and the because the people I play against usually spam projectiles I get out prioritized and get punished again.
