The year was 2047. You'd think that humanity would have shed its dependency on violence and bloodshed by then, but no. Even with the vast technological advances, wrestling, boxing, and the like were all still just as popular as they were half a century hence. A good portion of the names that had been inscribed in the book of fame had played sports that had something to do with fighting. These included wrestling, boxing, kick-boxing, football, hockey, and golf. Reael "The 'Roo" Jacobs in particular was a favorite. He was fast with his feet and fearsome with his fists, thus the appropriate nickname. He was a boxer of considerable reputation. But if this was true, then why did he now sit in this long-abandoned digging site? Indeed, it had been famous. Archeological researchers had calculated that this area had a particularly high chance of being the landing site of the meteorite that had theoretically caused the extinction of the dinosaurs so many years ago. Exited about this discovery, archeological diggers immediately flocked in to find this rather large chunk of space-rock. However, after years of cautious digging, the search was given up, dubbed a wild goose-chase. After that, this clearing was left to ruin. There wasn't even an effort to clean up the mess. This is where Reael sat now. It had become his favorite little nook, where he could sit all alone and think. He had been here every day since he got out of the hospital. You see, there had been... an accident. That doesn't matter. His legs were crippled, but not to the point where they couldn't heal. However, after a while, the recovery process just stopped. The healing of his legs discontinued, leaving them frail and weak, unable to handle his weight well. He could walk on his own, barely, but he would never box again. At least, that was what he thought as he sat alone in the archeological site. However, as Reael lamented his loss, a strange glowing in the ground caught his eye. After a moment, he began to edge toward the light precariously, as if approaching some animal that could strike out at him at any moment. But this did not strike. It just glowed innocently and sat motionless, half embedded into the rock. It was a stone, and would hardly have been recognizable from all the others hadn't it been for its luminescence. Gaping, Reael pulled the stone out of the ground and held it. And as he did, he could feel his legs beginning to grow stronger. He felt energized, as if the accident had never happened. The stone was doing something to him. Reael became afraid, but to amazed to drop the stone. As his anxiety increased, so did the stone's brightness. He began to float in the air. Noticing this, Reael began to forcibly calm himself. Apparently, he could control this thing with his thoughts, and even more exciting, it could control gravity! Reael began to scour the site in search of more of the objects, discovering three. He certainly didn't know how to activate or use them, but he could figure all that out later. He needed to get home! Reael decided to try out these new-found abilities, utilizing gravity to launch himself into the air. As he "flew" over the city, he was astounded at how great an experience flying really was. Aircar. Dead ahead. Collision. Four objects scattered in all directions. Reael falling...

These four objects were capable of breaking the fundamental laws of the universe.

Retraho: The sapphire of gravity. Allows the user to shift the center of gravity in a confined area, as well as increase or eliminate it.

Adstringi: The emerald of magnetism. Allows the user to magnetize or demagnetize any substance.

Locus: The topaz of space. Allows the user to teleport by ripping the fabric of space time and travel to alternate dimensions.

Motum: The ruby of inertia. Allows the user to increase or lower the effects of inertia and friction.

These are the four stones that were found by Reael at the digging site. When the aircar hit him, these powerful gems were scattered to four places in the city, where they were found by four different men. Greed drove them to misuse the powers of the crystals for their own purposes, which eventually led to a war that scaled the entire planet, which had split into four factions (one for each of the stones). Technology allowed the duplication of the stones and they were issued to soldiers as weapons. People from ages sixteen up are being drafted into these four militias. This is where you come in. The death toll in this war so far has been tremendous. The numbers in each army have dwindled, and all of the civilians have already been killed. The earth's population now amounts to about 9,600, a majority of them wounded or disabled. But human greed still prevails, as each faction perseveres to attain control of the earth. However, a group of activists rebuked the war. Some of them were civilians, and some were former soldiers. They banded together with a single purpose: to end the war. Thanks to technology and the stones the soldiers already possessed, these revolutionists were able to arm everyone with one of the stones. They assembled a crack team to infiltrate the HQ's of the different factions, one at a time, and shut down all operations. The first stop is Retraho.

Ooh...a future RP. Chances are, you'll get flamed by a "Pro", but I want part anyways.
Can I just use Gary? http://forums.mcleodgaming.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=10969
If not, I'll make someone. I'll also align myself with Locus.

Name: Lin Hanel
Appearance: 16 years old. Black hair, falls into eyes constantly. Black eyes that show a library full of emotion. Pale complexion. Typical attire: Blue shirt. Blue pants. (Jeans or similar, whatever they wear now.(AND DON'T SAY NOTHING)). Slightly chubby in the face.
Backstory: Lin was practicing with his father's Katana, a Legacy of the past. Swiftly dividing wooden statue in pieces, he felt that it was a more natural way of killing. Born into a basic family, his family could only afford so much of the new gadgets that were pumped out from the companies. When Lin hinted that he would like to train in fighting, his dad brought out his most precious relics-His katana and two D-Eagle pistols. (Tell me if this should be true:) Ballistic weapons had stopped producing due to ineffectiveness, so the pistols were rare as gold. Soon, Lin trained to aim and effectively kill with both weapons. However, his father lost his job due to an accident, and Lin decided, to help his family, he would join the military.
Association: Locus

PS: Give me a detailed list of weapons, tools, developments (ie: Lasers, Metals, Fuels)

Not to sound harsh or anything, but where the hell is the RPing in all this? All you told us is that some old f*** with super powers is flying over a city. I don't even think there is even a confict. Just guys with the ability to god-mod. DO OUR CHARACTERS HAVE ANY PLOT IMPORTANCE?! IS THERE EVEN A PLOT?! Don't get me wrong Nate, it sounds interesting. Just a little... "unpolished".

Well, first off, I never said Reael was an old fart. The only plot importance Reael had was finding the stones, which he then lost and died. Didn't you read the whole thing? They were then found by four other men.
I guess that the storyline after that might need some more detail, though.

Yeah, sure. I foresee a conflict about standard issue weaponry in the near future...

By the way, I looked up the D Eagle pistol, and it looks pretty cool.

To an untrained eye, it would seem like a noobly RP with no regards to plot, but I have seen masters go at it with just that much information, I have been blessed to participate in one in my lifetime. They continue the story on their own. Why it is not considered such is because of the presence of a character sheet.

It does. Especially if you dual them!
Can you type up a list of weapon's to be usage, or should I hand in suggestions?
If you need suggestions, tell me the point of development life has reached, so I don't start firin' lasers when there are still ballistic weapons. (Piercing Lasers, Static Barriers, Plasma Storage via EM field, etc.)

I tried that once, and was completely shunned.
by the way, Thaibarium, I've seen you post... (Counts on fingers for 15 minutes) a lot. I'm surprised you don't have 1000+ posts yet.
In the meantime, I'll debate whether to use Gary or Lin. Unless we can have multiple characters.

Aren't they heavy as hell, the recoil having a huge kick, the good chance of jamming/quality problems, and you could get a submachine gun and a few magazines for the same weight?

Since this topic is really just being used to discuss details, I am going to lock it and put a Universal Lawbreakers topic in the General RP Discussion section.
