It would be, if the bullets were made of iron.

What's interesting isn't the fact that he's dead, but rather, where the U.S. found him. Just north of Islamabad near a military academy, in a mansion, in a rich district surrounded by a battalion of Pakistani troops.

Hmm, I wonder if the Pakistani Government was in on this at all and knew exactly where he was for the past 6 years.

Don't go around celebrating just because he is dead.

There are other people who could easily take his place.

I've been hearing a lot of people on campus say "the war is over" last night because of his death. Really? Which one?

Also, Bin Ladin isn't dead yet. Have they killed all his horcruxes, too? I don't think so.

Well, if captured, it's pretty much guaranteed that he'd get the death penalty anyway.

Only if America's being stupid. They're supposed to bring him before the ICJ. And as far as I'm aware, they're against the death penalty

Tson, I don't know if you pay attention to what happens in the world, but I'm pretty sure that an organization dedicated to killing "infidel pigs" would probably bomb us even with him alive.
In fact, nobody ever said it would all just be candy and rainbows as soon as he died. It's just like crime: other people are still going to do it, but you can't just let someone get away with it, especially just out of fear that his followers will go ballistic. What sort of message does that send, anyway? "I openly opposed the U.S. for about two decades and organized attacks against them, and then they let me go because they're scared of us"

Are you daft? You tell me to pay attention to what happens in the world but you don't even understand why they are doing what they're doing. Wtf. & you're putting words into my mouth. We didn't have to kill him, we could have kept him as a prisoner. But anyways, lemme give you a history lesson so that you understand what they're doing.

First off, Al Qaeda is an Islamic RELIGION; not an "organization". They aren't dedicated to causing violence, they are just like any other religion.
But anyways, Islamic religions believe that waging in 'holy war' (defending your religion) & dying will reserve you a spot in heaven (& they go on to say that there's virgins or something up there to motivate them.) Al Qaeda, somewhere along the way, began to believe that Muslim people wish to 'corrupt' the Islamic way - and are doing whatever they can do to stop them. This counts as holy war. When the US got involved, because we're meddling f***, we got bombed in 1999(?). The president at the time was like "LOL TERRORISM" and then decided to retaliate by bombing Pakistan (where they currently were). But he called first to let the Pakistani government know. But some Al Qaedan in the gov warned them, & they, including Bin Laden, got away. They then planned a counterattack - 9/11.

They are merely counterattacking because of everything that we're doing to them; and we started it, so we're in the wrong. And guess what? This is just going to make them counterattack again.

But anyways, why am I not proud that America got him?
I'm fairly sure he didn't decide to be a part of Al Qaeda, he was probably forced into it by his parents, like other people are forced into Christianity or etc.
He wasn't born wanting to bomb the US. It's the people around you that make you into who you are & how you think. He was just very religious, & didn't know any better. Therefore, his death shouldn't be celebrated - what should be celebrated is that he can't hurt anyone else. He didn't know what he was doing was wrong because a stupid little book that he was raised up on told him otherwise.
All of this stupid US propaganda is making everything worse too. How would you feel if you were watching TV and someone that you looked up to was assassinated, and there was a whole country celebrating? The fact that the general population doesn't know wtf is really going on and thinks that everything started with 9/11 isn't helping anything.

al-Qaeda is an Islamist militant group (At least, the al-Qaeda formed by Bin Laden was. Nowadays, the term is basically used to describe Middle-eastern groups who reject western ideals). They're essentially just a bunch of extreme Sunni Muslims who want to spread a ridiculous form of Jihad. They're not their own religion, however they definitely aren't in the same camp as normal, moderate Muslims.
What you said about them targeting Muslims is basically true, however you have some of the context wrong. They instigate violence against non-Sunnis, moderate Muslims, and basically anyone who doesn't follow the Koran word for word because they see them as heretics. They see themselves as Muslims, though, because at their core that's what they are.
Also yes, Osama did decide to be a part of al-Qaeda because he founded it. Of course Osama didn't think he was doing wrong - In fact he thought he was basically following God's orders, and called himself a holy warrior. There are pretty few people who would think of themselves as "evil," but that doesn't mean you should just let them do whatever they want. Osama was a mass murderer who violated human rights. Whether or not he understands that doesn't matter. He needed to be killed to protect innocent people.
