You know, just because they're subs doesn't mean you can't listen. That's how people form arguments over whether the sub or dub of an anime has better voice actors.

I watch enough anime to know some but not enough for conversation so I really kinda half read the subs.

What's the point? Just read it traditionally, as always. I mean, trying to understand Japanese by yourself is challenging, but that's why there's school...

Subs are need because visual puns (ie text) are hard to spot if they don't edit the scene or random sentences or phrases need an explanation to understand references among other things (like Mahjong rules).

A masterpiece in the Art of Trolling. I loved it. The thought that somewhere, somehow, it pissed someone else off, makes me feel all giddy. It also says how f*** rich KyoAni are as they redid every single episode of that arc from scratch.

I heard that Thailand was gonna show Disappearance, among other anime films, but with the torching of one of the bigger malls, doesn't seem likely any time soon.
