So I have an Unpopular Opinion about one of the most loved games of all time.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time


WARNING [SPOILERS AHEAD]


So let me just declare that I love this game and all of its beauty. I need to say this as I am not saying it isnt a bad game. What I feel though is that it holds your hand way too much. I mean I beat the game in a week, (with the interference of school and after school sports). The game didnt have that sense of adventure as other games. The game always told you where to go and how to do things with hints. Now I really only needed this help when I was in the Shadow Temple. (I never knew about the secret areas with the Lens of Truth). But none the less I was always lead into the right direction. It felt like the game was just one straight line with no factor of self exploration. (Unless you wanted to do the side quest to make the game easier [which I did])

I feel like the game could've been better if it had MM style ,(Yes I know the game was made before MM), since that game mainly gave you hints. When I played MM I was confused out of my mind where to go so I explored different areas, (Hopelessly trying to find the correct way or make up my own path as the moon destroyed the Earth over 10 Billion times). Now you are probably saying, "Well why didnt you make up your own path in Oot?" That is a good question. I didnt do this as again the game is really on a straight line, and that there wasnt much to do in the game besides the shooting gallery. So it wasnt interesting so I just went with the flow of the game. Again I enjoyed the game and I still love it today with the inclusion of the OoT and MM remakes on the 3DS and "new" 3DS. Speaking of those remakes lets talk about Master Quest. This is only exclusive to the 3DS version of OoT. What it is, is just the temples harder and flipped backwards. I thought it would be more interesting like have an extra plot or something different than just going through the same levels but just at a different difficulty. But you cant blame Nintendo it was still entertaining and they needed something to raise up sales. And even in that mode it still held your hand, had the same plot, and again no curves in exploration.

Now you can explore all you want in OoT as you might be thinking, but what do you find out while exploring....empty fields only filled with blocked entrances or areas that lead to temples. The most exploration I got was riding on Epona for 10 minutes while shooting ghost.

In conclusion the game is fantastic of its time and the revamps look amazing, with the comparison the other zelda games that were produced later made better decisions of not holding your hand the entire way. The fields are bland and have no real purpose besides the fact to make the game feel longer.

But that's just an opinion....A GAME-.....just an Unpopular Opinion.

Well actually Master Quest was included with the Gamecube version of Ocarina of Time and wasn't made for the 3DS version so you already f*** up

The opera scene in Final Fantasy VI wasn't that great.

the remake of OOT on the 3DS looks like s*** anyway in comparison to the original
they didn't keep the charm the 64 version did and Link constantly looks like he has a baby face regardless of his age. the model for Link constantly looks weird anyways (which is somewhat remedied in MM3D)

The Hanenbow and Mario Bros stage should return for the chaos of 8 player smash...
...okay maybe not Hanenbow

My own personal reason, which is to get revenge on all my friends that chose the Namek stage to get me salty.

i find Zelda to be a very boring character
while that's probably not popular, I find Sheik very interesting despite it being the same person
