After doing some more Wario stuff:

Dthrow should become a combo throw. As it is it's stupid: against some character it's nearly a OHKO from the ledge, but for many characters it's useless until kill percentages or onstage. Wario has a poor grab range, but that doesn't justify being able to kill Fox in one hit from the ledge. If you made it a combo throw, like Mario's perhaps, you could give Wario a new tool for combos (perhaps combined with bair -> grab) while removing a really janky part of his game. Doof's proposed change, angling it more downwards, only makes the problem worse, becoming a sure OHKO on much of the cast near the ledge (and floatier characters from farther on stage) while becoming even less useful otherwise (Wario doesn't have the tools to tech-chase, so it doesn't really help).

I really don't want Wario's combo game getting even better than it already is. Although my idea of angling it more downwards isn't so hot, Wario getting a new combo throw would be pushing his combo potential through the roof, and the current Fthrow is already a combo throw.

Unfortunately I cannot think of an alternative other than having his Dthrow from Brawl/Sm4sh. That throw is a combo throw, but it sends foes behind him instead of in front. Wario has more than enough combo potential, but if Dthrow really needs to be replaced, then this is the only option I can think of.

What if you made dthrow a DI trap? I don't know how fthrow combos, but if you made it kinda like Sheik (where DI'ing dthrow in gets you hit but DI'ing fthrow out also gets you hit) or Falcon dthrow/uthrow mixups, it would make Wario's combo game more intricate.

Idk about that, Wario's an autocombo character already, so experienced foes usually know that they will get punished hard by a long combo if they happen to get hit by a single combo setup at most %s, and Wario doesn't care about DI in his combos.

At this point I'm very unsure. If Brawl/4 Dthrow goes along with my changelist, Wario will still have most of his exceptional autocombo game intact and also be a lot stronger in many other areas, and I do not want Wario to be that OP. If we keep the same Dthrow, Wario gets an even better grab game due to his buffed grab, along with the buffs, and that's also too good for him.

I'm kinda leaning on either just a plain old weaker Dthrow, or have the move bury for 1 second instead.

How about just a straight tech-chase throw, like Fox's? Wario isn't very good at tech-chasing so this doesn't mean much, but maybe on platforms or against puffballs it would have limited utility.

That could potentially work, I guess. It would instantly knock foes down right in front of Wario, and they can't tech it. Then, Dthrow would need to be sped up quite a bit, but just enough so it isn't fast enough to followup on knocked down foes.

For now I'm gonna update Dthrow on my changelist with this new info.

Why not have it launch upward like Dedede's and Luigi's do in Smash 4? I'm not sure if it would be beneficial or not, but it seems like Wario already has a strong tech chasing game already; don't think it would effect much except give him a more fair (haha) option and give him something for aerial followups. Then again, I guess Wario's combo game is pretty good the way it is... I guess maybe nerf him in some other area to make room for the new followup.

Just a suggestion. I don't exactly think a move you can't tech is fair when Wario can pretty much cover any option on a downed opponent already.

Wario's combo potential is already dangerously dangerously dangerously dangerously dangerously dangerously dangerously high, you want his to get even better? In most cases Wario can't cover tech chases because of how slow he is and how far away foes usually are when knocked down, so he would need a tech chase throw. Having it launch upwards is pointless, because Fthrow already does just that.

Why not putting again the Wario Bike (retaining same functions than in Brawl, with all and third mid-air jump) and the Shoulder Bash will be Wario's Side Smash again (but with the sweetspot on last frame, and slightly more distance than the covered in Brawl), it will be possible?

Why not combining WarioWare based moveset with WarioLand based moveset, but considering competitive aspects. That is an idea (I think).

As long as it improves Wario's viability, I'm fine. I like his Brawl Fsmash, so I'd prefer his Fsmash in this game to be similar, w/o the armor.
