I'm trying to decide between Windows 8 and Windows 7. I have valid arguments on both sides and I just wanted an opinion form the users on MG.

windows 8 is faster and more efficient than 7.
you can actually run 8 on older systems than 7, so you can guess how little it takes to run
which means it uses less memory, so you can run bigger programs

the only thing really different about 8 is the start menu and the start button. but it's better that way imo

get a touch screen and windows 8

or just get whatever tson tells you to if he shows up here

lol. thats because its a f*** tablet OS with an interface you'd expect to have on your smart phone. why would you want that on your pc

windows 8 seems like it would suck without a touch screen but I tried it with one and it's pretty cool man

I use Windows 8 and not a touch screen. Its pretty easy to get around once you know the shortcuts keys.

ummm because the pc version is literally windows 7 except faster with a different start screen???
that "tablet os interface" you're talking about is most likely the start screen, most everything else is still looks the same as 7

it's probably only different on tablets, but i wouldn't know about that

Windows 8 has better interface (for me), faster, much better with touch screen.
But, i like 7 more than 8

ive used 8 a few times for things like work because the company switched over a little while ago, and i haven't really liked it, but i feel like it's probably actually better than 7 if you get used to it. i just haven't had a chance to use it consistently enough to actually get the hang of everything.
