the characters you actually play as, actually move, are the dog and the duck. the duck hunt duo.
Zelda is not "Zelda and the phantom in her down-b", y'know?

I guess, but what about Pikmin and Olimar? You dont actually get to control the Pikmin, they're just used in his attacks much like the gunmen and shooter are. I just find it weird that they'd name him that because the pikmin help him out, the shooter and gunmen help the Duck Hunt Dog as well, why arent they acknowledged?
I would guess because the pikmin are always there with you.

Because you actually control them. You move, they move. They're an integral part of the character, not just some move he uses.
Same with the Luma.

This may sound stupid but when doing his smashes, are you controlling the Duck hunt duo or the guy shooting? Maybe I'm just going too far in trying to understand the character _________________
