I'm perfectly fine with that... It is sorta troublesome, though.

Who gives a s***? I haven't even bought a console from this generation and I am perfectly happy.
I am phenomenally pissed off that game companies dare to b**** about the rising prices of game development yet continue to push the limits of consoles when it comes to graphical appeal. Maybe if the casual market stopped giving such a flying s*** about it and they weren't forced to do so to get sales, there would not only be more potential of an effort to improve gameplay, but that practically worthless disc inside that cheap plastic case would stop costing so goddamn much.

You're forget the components inside of the cheap plastic case that help make the worthless disc be a little less worthless.

Does anybody want to reply to my post in a manner I can actually reply to so we can get a decent discussion going on concerning this supposed current event? I mean, this section isn't just for people to copy and paste links and call it a post right??

We're the news crew. We share news to the good people of the MG Community. I was also giving my thoughts about it.

Well I for one don't care as PC Gaming reigns supreme above any and all console gaming. Yes I am aware that I will have started a war but I must spread the truth!

Personally I can't comprehend playing a shooter without a controller in my hands unless the game is specifically tooled for a keyboard. what i'm saying here is f*** s*** ports
but yes, the PC doesn't need to be re-released every five years and it is easily the most accessible platform available, especially for indie games.

Precision can not be attained with a controller. Save using a light-gun, a mouse works best.

Stop corrupting the young! Breath of Fire III and LoZ: OoT Wouldn't be the same on a PC!

Meh, law abiding citizen right here...
Regarding the new consoles (or lack thereof) I think it's fine, maybe add new software to it, but the current specs are fine. (Except perhaps for the wii's lack of HD and video playing). It's also great for those poorer people whose consoles don't become obsolete as fast and get good value for their money.
Just my opinion.

Frankly, couldn't care less about this. It seems to me that this generation is still flowing along quite nicely. And PC gaming is also still alive and well. The PC is the most versatile gaming system as developers can produce games both designed for keyboard & mouse as well as any USB connected controller. This way it does not alienate the people who are still transitioning to PC gaming or just prefer the feel of a controller. However, in PC shooters, most controller users will be slaughtered relentlessly due to slower reaction or decreased accuracy.
