Until beta arrives,try to main someone you don't care

While we all wait like crazy for SSF2 beta comes out,i got a sugestion for all: Main a new character.
"But i alredy got my mains" Ok, We all got our mains alredy,but the thing i propose is pick a character you don't even care. Someone you don't like but don't hate it too,or a character that you never fight with or against,or a character that you forgot it was on the roster alredy and try to main him and post here the results and your toughts about him. I got the ideia while i was trying to search something new in 0.9b, so i remember of link and then i decided to see what i could do with him. I enjoyed and now he is on the way to become a new main. He has really strong moves and his projectiles help a lot. I am surprised of having so much fun with him since i don't use him in all smash games at all. _________________ 0.9b MAINS: Jigglypuff, Ness, Link |

Also, play characters that challenge you in the areas your other mains are good at. I can't tell you how much of a mistake it was to play characters with EZ neutral game (MK and Fox) for most of my time when I was first starting out. If you play Fox, try playing a character that doesn't have good approach options (Wario, Bomberman) so you get better at playing the neutral. If you play a character that doesn't need to work very hard to recover, pick one that does so you learn recovery tricks and how to get back. If you play a character without heavy punishes or with more automatic punish games, learn a character with a less obvious combo tree so you learn more about that aspect of the game. That way, you'll end up being good enough to play any character you want when Beta comes out without realizing Link doesn't have a Shine halfway in the middle of your first game.

everyone should just pick up a crap character like ness or kirby, but do it ironically so you dont get butthurt when you get outplayed.
