Am I the only one who thinks footstools would be a terrible idea? Because it would. It provides nothing meaningful to the game and only serves as yet another jank option for killing opponents super early. Smuhforsche needs it because it provides some much-needed depth by allowing for combo extensions and gimps in a game that lacks both, but SSF2 is deep enough that it would just get in the way.

I think we should be careful about using this logic, as Melee also lacks balance across the roster. I still agree that footstools should stay out of SSF2, and Ermac has explained it all perfectly. I still think that footstools are really awkward in PM, and they are pretty much only used as an edgeguard option.
Poor | Yoshi/Peach/Goku if footstools were in SSF2.

Walljumps, on the other hand, I think would be a great idea. This could be yet another way to balance characters recoveries around, either give them a recovery nerf for the walljump or use the walljump to buff an otherwise lackluster recovery. But there is already a discussion for this so it should just stay there.

As said, we already have jab resets, and I'm not sure how much others use jab resetting, but I have a feeling it isn't being used as much as it could. Most getup animations are about 14 frames guys, if your jab reset attack is slow, you should probably have time to grab at least. If the option is pretty fast, you may have time to perform a slower but more powerful option. For instance, off of a jab reset, Falcon can stomp or Knee his target.

I don't like footstools. As others have said, they're really janky all of the time. Walljumps add depth to the offstage game, but footstools just allow for stupid early-percent kills (because everyone loves Sheik's bthrow right?)
