However SSC tournament isn't FCR since there lacks any good players. Malkasaur and Rychu are the only notable ones, but neither of which are considered extraordinary players on their own right compared to others. Mainly since most popular ssf2 players didn't have the time to visit SSC. Malkasaur is honestly just a generic ichigo main while Rychu is a decent lloyd that is a little more overreliant on neutral-b. But I heard that Rychu is getting some improvements due to his training partner now being Mew2ube. But neither of which are close to being a PR worthy player as of right now.

I mean at the time mewtube had gotten like 4 9th place finishes in a row and only had a 33% winrate or so against the other top 10 players, maybe he was too low but a lot of people valued consistency/ability to win a lot.

But again most of it was due to the lloyd ban which is why mew2ube placed so low because sandbag. As an actual player especially when he played lloyd he is definently top 10 material. But just banning it and not having it count is pretty unjustified and unfair especially when we are managing player SKILL.

A project I will start, if I have time, is Elo ranking tournament results. I think it will give a far more objective answer to "who is the best" than either the FCR (which has some problems IMO like favoring tournament attendance over results) or a council system (which has inherent problems as well). I'd be interested to see how that will combine with this.

1st of all, its not at all based on the FCR. If it honestly was then I probably wouldn't have been mentioned at all imo. And the system for having many meta contributing players or top level players vote on their top 30 players is an okay system. The plenty amount of people makes it a less biased system along with an average to who they think is top 30.

Yea about that, I could say I was ranked a bit too low. But consider that this was made around a month back. Also subscribe to Strat2G for more outstanding ssf2 content

22 samples isn't enough to remove bias, statistically speaking. 30 samples is considered standard, but even in an elementary setting this isn't that great. The main issue that could be drawn from this is whether or not those 22 contributors are on this list (undoubtedly perhaps all of them are). If that's the case, there are no guarantees that data is accurate without personal bias towards players someone likes/dislikes or has played more often. Being asked to give a ranking of top players knowing you're one of them as well as someone you have a serious bone with is suspect at best, garbage data at worst; and I think we all know that there are members of any competitive community that aren't above that pettiness, no matter how feigned it may be. Point is, something along the lines of an ELO ranking would be a good benefit to have right along SCR/FCR since both of those methods are imperfect. It adds additional data that really can't hurt, especially if you're not the one doing the work
