Hey everybody, Flashmonster here, and I just had a Flash revelation. I now think (and most people might say) that AS3 is the best Script for Flash nowadays. I mean, seeing all of the things you can do with it is just...overwhelming. I want to learn AS3, But I already started in AS2, and know alot, but know nothing about AS3 :eew: . Where would be the VERY BEST place to start learning this scripting language?

Honestly?
You can find hundreds and hundreds of tutorials online, and some are pretty damn good, but there is no better way to learn a language than to have a tutor teach it to you, face-to-face.
However, it's definitely not impossible to learn AS3 using just online tutorials, (that's how I learnt), so Google is really your best friend here. www.flashgametuts.com is a fantastic little site that step by step tells you how to make simple games in AS3, and carefully explains all the code written along the way. After you've done a few of those tutorials, you should understand the basics, and from then on can just Google any more specific queries you have.
And you're completely right. AS3 is a hundred times better than AS2. Good luck!

I'm honestly don't know. They certainly do for more mainstream languages like C++ and Java, but for something like AS3 it's a little iffy. I'm sure somewhere, tutors exist, but you'd probably have to do a bit of searching in your local area to find one.

OK, well thanks anyway, guess I'm alone on this :P . But before i stop posting on this topic, I think you guys that really know AS3 should make a AS3 Version of X2I's Tutorial List IF you can or feel up to it. It would help people like me get a better understanding of AS3 so beginners may easily choose to start in AS3 instead of ending up like me!

No problem. And once you start learning, if you have any more specific questions about AS3 itself, I'm happy to answer them if I can.
