Here we go again! This time I'm gonna be flying solo again, now that the whole crossover thing is done with.

The tournament will begin on Saturday, April 25th, at approximately 13:00 EDT. Seeding is based on the Flash Collective Rankings. The bracket is not finalized until about 5 minutes before the tournament actually begins, so stop complaining about bad seeding the week before the event. Anyone who fails to check in before the event will be dropped from the bracket. Anyone who checks in, but fails to show up within 20 minutes of the tournament's beginning will be dropped to losers. Anyone who fails to show up for an additional 10 minutes will be dropped entirely.

Each round will last approximately half an hour. I can push back a deadline if necessitated by a lack of finished matches. If all matches are played out before the deadline, the next round will immediately start. The bracket will be updated as each result comes in.

All finished match results should be posted in the IRC channel in the following format:
!X defeats Y 0-0

If the other player does not show up to fight, get a hold of me before the match deadline indicating this. If the match isn't played out before the deadline, the other player will be disqualified from the match.

Main Rules:

• Double Elimination
• 3 Stocks, 7 minutes
• Items disabled
• Hazards disabled
• All matches are best of 3, except for winners/losers/grand finals, which are best of 5.

This tournament will use the current Backroom Stage List.



Set Procedure:

• Players will double-blind pick their first characters.
• Players will use the 1-2-1 striking system to determine which neutral stage to use for the first game. The player who's hosting the room will strike first.
• For all subsequent games, the winning player will strike 3 stages from the list above and the losing player will counterpick from the remaining stages. Then the winner will then pick their character, followed by the loser.
• You cannot counterpick any stages you won on previously during the set.

Lag:

• If the game desynchs, it will be replayed on the same stage with the same characters.
• If lag issues occur on Final Destination, Dracula's Castle, or Sky Sanctuary Zone, players may reselect their stage via the counterpicking system.
• If multiple desynchs occur, an argument arises over desynching, or a set takes longer than 45 minutes, I will personally determine the outcome of the set based on replay information and past tournament results.

Other Rules:

• If time runs out, the person with the most stocks left wins. If both players have an equal number of stocks, whoever has a lower percentage wins. If the percentage is also equal, play a 1-stock 3 minute match with the same characters on the same stage to determine the winner. Repeat as necessary.
• If the match ends with a move that kills both characters simultaneously when they are each on their last stock, the player who performed the move wins.
• If a player intentionally disconnects from their opponent during a game, it will count as a win for their opponent. The only exception to this rule is if a reset is necessary due to an error during the game's setup (wrong players, characters, stages, stock count, or time limit; hazards and items are not disabled; sudden death/waiting room glitch; etc.).
• Excessive stalling is not allowed (infinite combos past 300%, repeated use of Sonic's homing attack under stage, scrooging, etc.)
• Gentleman's Clause is in effect. Any of the above rules may be averted if both players agree to it.
• IF YOU ARE IN TOP 8, YOU MUST SAVE YOUR REPLAYS FOR THE STREAM. If you don't, you may have to redo your set. This rule doesn't apply if, for whatever reason, the stream fails. If one of the players deliberately quits before a replay can be saved, the game will be rewarded to their opponent, regardless of the outcome.

Why are castle siege and jungle hijinx both on the same stage list its redundant

Eh, one is more Final Destination-y while the other is more PS3-esque. I personally believe that they are different enough to warrant inclusion of both of them. It's either this, or lose one of them and have 2 stage bans instead of 3 because of the standardized stage-to-bans ratio (1 ban for every 4 stages).

Yeah, that date was put in mainly because it was the only Saturday in April that worked at the time, what with Hypest Umpteen taking my original date of the 18th. I guess I should pay more attention the next time I make an event to make sure it's not on the last Saturday.

Hypest 8 is slated for the 19th (Sunday)

You got five other options right here ;
- Make X5 happen in four days with the crew battle (hell no pls)
- Cancel Smash Island XI to have X5 instead which also means having a fight with DarkErmac (go to the Salty Suite)
- Erase your godly rule (Only on Saturday night m'lady) and have it on a day of the week
- Smash Island XI
or...

We have X5 on Saturday 18th ! Which also means two tourneys in one week-end but HEY! Who's not out there for blood?

Nothing would be scored then, it would just be random seeding which isn't what X is about

There isn't any problem if you do it again , then. Besides , one will be on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

I have school every week until June.

Then you have two legit options left.
- Do another tournament with DarkErmac on April 25th
- Make X5 happen on Saturday April 18th (Hypest is on 19th) and f*** your last Saturday rule
or
- Corrupt DarkErmac with money and have X5 on the 25th instead
or
- Cry in a corner.
