I had this idea running around my head for ages, hope this works.

A diamond shaped island, four villages. To the north a village hidden high in the mountains, the east a village of fields, the south a village hidden glaciers and the west the village of the desert. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and rare 'character types' as well. Here the people take many shapes, mages are thin characters, warriors bulky, swordsmen/women are average, archers lean.

The village of mountains is often shrouded in storms and fog, their strongest ability is with ranged weapons and storm magic, they are stronger up high.
The village of field is multi-dexterous, finding many advantages with normal battle. They house the strongest clan 'The Magis Clan' full of multi powerful mages.
The village of Ice is too shrouded with fog, their strongest ability is magic, which all people in the village know ice magic.
The village of desert is a more powerful village, their ability to resist the need to drink allows them to endure longer during battle.

Magic: There are five forms of Magic, each housing three seperate magic.
Energy magic: Fire, Thunder, Wind. Easily mastered, easily strengthened.
Physical magic: Earth, Water, Ice: Harder to master, easily strengthened.
Spiritual magic: Time, Gravity, Death: Hardest to master, impossible to strengthen.
Allignment magic: Light, Dark, Neutral: Mastered by few, impossible to strengthen.
Nature magic: Flare, Nature, Meteor: Strongest magic, requires the knowledge of nature to master.

Finally, weapons: Axe, sword, lance/javelin/spear, Bows, guns (yes guns please use with discretion)
Axe: Strongest weapon, hard to swing about.
Sword: Easily the best weapon for rookies.
Lance/javelin/spear: Long reach, good stabbing motion, hard to swing, good defence.
Bows: Ranged weapons, with various abilities.
Guns: Longest range weapons, limited abilities, hard to dodge, hard to master. (No idea why)

Now, if you wish to join this hardly story-like story, keep it simple such as.

Gender: (Your character's gender)
Job: (what your character is classified as)
Domanant element: (Element that your character can use without extensive training)
Hair: (What is their hair like)
Eyes: (How wonderful their eyes are: May also hint at latent abilities)
Skin colour: (Doesn't really matter, just like to know)
Clothes: (We don't want to be naked now)
Weapons: (Multiple if you'd like. Beware of weight, we aren't ALL superhuman)
Magic: (Magic your character knows, or will learn)
Abilities: (Techniques that may include magic, as long as there is some kind of technical point to it)

If I don't like your character, please don't take it personally, but I may tell you to edit it better. There are more things I wish to add, but you will need to wait for those.

I'd like to point out, if you get any sign-ups, that most everyone will use a sword.

Why, you ask?

Well it may stem from FE logic.

Swords beat axes, and only soldiers use spears.

And no one likes to be an unimportant grunt.

That may be so, but I was hopeing that that may infact occur. surely swords are the best all around weapons, and obviously bested only by lances. Surely I do agree with you thoughts, however many people lack the same kind of imagination I do. In my recent years of using this idea, I have created many unique and wonderful weapons to break the pattern used in FE. Infact my best weapon is a transforming blade, with the abilities of a lance, axe, sword and a guiloteen. One press of a button and your reach was doubled, hit the other and you have an axe, hit both and you have a flying guiloteen cutting anything in half as it goes. I may also like to apologise for not posting again and getting more information out, I will try to get more out asap.

It is a decent idea, There isn't any thing wrong that it is from Fire emblem.
But the island makes the travel limited, It would be much better if the land was larger.

Second, you may leave the island in search of larger lands, there is a huge land piece above and to the sides. I'd just like to have everybody start in a similar place...

BIO: He was born in a rich family but his parents and his trainer were killed by a bandit clan, He was able to hide in a secret room where he found a sword, He started to hunt them three years after trying to find the killers of his family, He travelled through villages for bounties.
Village:Organily from the village of the field but he is now in the village of the desert.

Those are some nice characters, and you don't have to limit your bullets, ammo can be summoned or even magic used instead. i.e: Fire shot, thunder shot, Ice shot... Ect.

Oh and SMDC, you currently don't have a village to call home. Are you going to be a traveler or a bandit, then again, you could have a home in the trees... Please specify.
