Okay so this bill is something that Congress is deciding on passing. What this bill does is that it shuts down any uploaded media on any site unless the uploader has permission from the company who made whatever it is your uploading. This includes music, movies, video game videos or streams, etc. The reason is because it hurts profit sales of the company who made the product. I can understand downloading music and movies without permission, but I don't see why video games are involved. I hope I explained this well.

Here's a link for more info:

lol this bill is totally retarded.

I watch Starcraft II streams like daily, and the idea of banning streaming video games sounds really stupid to me. It's not hurting company profit at all - in fact it's probably increasing it because it's free advertising of the game to the streamer's audience.

Yes, but I don't think you've considered how even though your point is true, the bill being passed would hardcore f*** over the E-sports community. If this bill is passed, and let's say you're a hardcore Starcraft 2 player, yes you will still be able to get your daily dose of SC2 streams, but what if you're not a hardcore Starcraft 2 player? How can you get into it when streams that are easily accessible and are a big reason for people to get into the game in question are suddenly illegal?

You won't if that bill passes.
I for one thinks that this bill is one of the most stupid things ever created.

Okay, imagine a world where streaming video games is illegal. Not counting the hundreds or thousands of streams dedicated to video games on justin.tv, ustream.tv or livestream, what about streams of major video game competitions like MLG or IEM? Those can attract more than 100k viewers, and are an easy way for newer players to get into the competitive aspect of certain video games, like Starcraft, Halo, COD, etc.

While it might be easy for a hardcore gamer of one of these big video games to find something to watch to satisfy them, newer gamers have no reason to do so. Not to mention I really doubt that if this bill were passed major corporations like MLG would still attempt to stream their video games. And this would f*** them over as well because a large part of their income comes from s**** on their streams.

okay well then that's a good thing, because it prevents potentially thousands of little nerds-in-training such as yourself from having to suffer through a life of loneliness and hentai

Wow. I love your closemindedness and how you've grouped all us "nerds in training" into some kind of stereotype that doesn't even apply to many, many progamers. I can name plenty progamers who make good money (read as: more than you probably will), are married or have a girlfriend, etc etc. Just off the top of my head I can name EGIdra, who recently got a girlfriend, EG.InControl, who has a girlfriend who is very active in the StarCraft scene while also being Miss Oregon USA, and White-RA, another gamer who's actually married. This doesn't even include the Koreans, who take progaming very seriously and actually see it as a worthy profession.

I am your future king, money makes no difference to me
also note that those people who make lots of money are not you and you will never be one of them
lol @ how you attempt to prove you're not a nerd in training by listing the names of people who only a nerd in training would know
