So I'm gonna just start by saying flat out- I'm a total sucker for character creation. Yeah I know about 80% of the time it's just a gimmick and only rarely makes you stop believing your character is homemade, but I do't care. If the creation mode is great, I may well spend more time there than in actual gameplay, however sad that may seem.

So for anyone else who loves this mode, what do you like to do? Recreate your favorite iconic characters? Introduce your own guys from other sources? Make an entirely new guy? Dress them in all the stupidest options? I do all four =P

And what are some good games for these modes? Discuss that too.

I have played the hell out of some old WWE games for their creation modes, though those are hard to take seriously in action, ha. The Soul Calibur series kinda goes back and forth. 3 had special movesets original characters could use but costuming kinda sucked. 5 is excellent in costumes but characters are reqlly just skins, which is a shame.

Saints Row 2 is objectively the best character creator, because it has a gender slider.

Anytime a VS Fighter of any kind has a Character Creator I generally refuse to play as anyone but my own creations. Makes it feel more personalized.

Character creation seriously needs to be embraced more often, especially if it's done well. It can seriously add to the replay value of any game... if done right.
