The movie is pretty good but sort of in the annoying area in some parts of the movie or otherwise predictable, but I pretty much recommend it for those who like Dakota Fanning ^^.

When I wen't to see the movie there a bunch of teenagers were screaming, "Hey f*** you piece of s***!" and other curses. There were fricking babies in that theater!

I actually went to see this in the theater with my girlfriend - we drove like 45 minutes just to see it in 3D. I made a big fuss about it because she works for Focus Features, who produced it :E
Personally I don't think the 3D was utilized well enough as it should have been - just at the beginning and ending of the film (during the credits) but the rest of the movie wasn't as dynamic-looking. In other words, save your money if you're thinking of seeing the 3D version because the movie barely makes any use of it and just go see the regular version.
Maybe it's because I've never read the actual book, but I actually wasn't too impressed with the movie. I understand that it was supposed to feel like a fairy tale and all, but halfway into the movie I was already getting bored, feeling like it was dragging out.
There was a guy with Tourette's in the front row when I went to see the movie, and he actually made the movie much awesomer/funnier. Whenever Coraline would fall or got snuck up on (suspenseful parts) he'd groan loudly when it turned out to be just rustling leaves and he'd scream at the scarier parts. I asked my girlfriend at first "is that a character in the movie?" and she said "no, it's that guy up there". I couldn't help but to laugh because I thought it was like, 3D-sound or something ):
the movie's awesome in its own right because it's actually recorded entirely in stop-motion with minimal CG parts. A woman actually sewed all the clothing for the characters in the movie :0

I saw it in 3D and felt it was better for not over-using the 3D Gimmick. It was creepy and very good. I must read the book.
