I think the problem with Sheik is that she relies so much on fair combos and edgeguards for kills, that against characters that aren't susceptible to either (coincidentally many top-tiers like MK and ZSS), she struggles to close out stocks and really convert off of openings. She obviously still has combos, but unlike, say, Marth, who she can just fair offstage at 50% and edgeguard to death, the top-tiers have a much easier time punishing her than she does them. But she does way too well against the low-tiers and a lot of the long-ranged swordsmen to be much lower than S tier.

To tell you the truth, I think that's just players doing nothing than resorting to fair combos instead of the character herself.

Sheik has many options to confirm into her other finishers, such as up smash, bair, down smash sometimes and up air. However, players just choose to do fair and that's it.

I will agree that edge guarding is a big strong point of Sheik's stock taking game.

I don't agree with the top tiers punishing her more easy then them because I do think she does well against them, just ZSS and MK imo give her the most trouble.

When does bair kill with good DI? 120%?

Usmash is sooo situational and terrible in neutral, and besides weak nair there's no good way to combo into it except in very specific situations. Down smash has the same problems but kills later, and up air only kills at very high percents.

I guess you know percents now all of a sudden?

I mean not just throwing it out, you can combo into it with f tilt and maybe d tilt. Who throws out up smash in neutral in this game?

I never used weak nair to combo into up smash, when does this happen?

I know when up air kills. I make a list of mental notes in my head.

Floaty characters, with the exception of Samus, die in the 99-110% area along with below avarge fallers.

Average fallers are the same area, but maybe more percentage wise.

Above average dies in 129-140% area. High and fast fallers are a bit higher.

I am basing these percents off of combos I do into up air.

Down smash I mainly get a read or use it as an edge guarder or using it in tech chase situations.

Usmash is a little more useful in SSF2 because of the physics(sliding, dash canceled + jump canceled = huge slide)

I feel as if you kept :sheik: 's fair nerfed as it is (those beta clips bruv, the fair looked so weak lol), but buffed D-Smash/U-Smash/U-Air by either adding damage or adding more KB growth, :sheik: wouldn't rely so much on fair as it is now.

I say this now because I finally see some of Code's viewpoint.

We've been pretty racist to him. Ironically.

For example, U-Smash isn't just really tough to hit sweetspot, but the KB isn't that great either.

Only way I've seen U-Smash kill well is when both attacks hit, for both on the ground and the sweetspot.

Not sure what you are talking about being racist to code. Code has his wild and crazy theories, to which we just shut him down to prevent him from becoming full of himself.

You haven't done anything to code though.

Sweet spotted up smash is very strong, but like it has been said, its hard to connect with.

However, I have been thinking about this nerf and I am glad it happened.

Now Sheik's won't over rely on fair now and are forced to find other options. I am happy for this because I hated seeing people play the character a similar way instead of changing things up like I do.

One of the things I didn't like about this demo is the over abuse of certain attacks that it would be picked up by other players as the only option. Then you would fight different players with the same play style over and over again until you get sick of seeing the character being played


I hope the changes to beta, with increased hitstun to certain attacks across all characters to get adjusted so we can see some new combos.
