exceptionally good programs

So what are some good programs that show you or teach you how too use coding ,varibles, and/or scripting.

To learn basic programming I'd start with something like Java. There's tons of tutorials out there. I found it to be the easiest way to introduce someone to object oriented programming. There's always the option of C++ too. It's up to you really.

Java has their own tutorials online. I even start making some GUI based programs.
