Online mode for SSF2 will be down for maintenance between 10pm and 11pm EST on February 18th, 2015.

A small patch will be released as well for version 9b. This is a patch made solely to correct the "black screen of death" bug that prevents the game from loading 100%. This bug occurs due to corrupt save data and has a pretty tedious workaround, but the patch will allow the game to fix itself. Please bear in mind that this fix does not totally resolve the corrpupt save data fix, so backup your save file in the Data menu often if you want to be completely safe. (The game will also now notify you at the loading screen if any data corruption occurs). We'll take care of this issue for good in Beta.

The downtime shouldn't take the full hour but it will require you to update SSF2 to the latest version in order to continue playing Online mode.

Hey, I'm the first to post in this thread! Congrats, devs! I'm glad you're giving us the small patch! Then it's off to Beta!

If this is a small patch, will the revision number change?

Would I need to download this if I've never had any issues with the black screen of death (I don't have the internet to play online)?

You don't have to download it if you don't play online and have never seen the black screen bug

You'll have to wait until Beta then ;)
