No, at no point did I say selling more = less quality. Return of the King, Skyfall, and The Dark Knight Rises are in the top 10 grossing movies of all time and I like all of those. But Avatar, Harry Potter 7 Part 2, and Transformers 3 have all grossed higher and those movies are terrible. My point is Citizen Kane, widely regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time, bombed when it released.

Avatar gained high critical acclaim and won 73 accolades, including 3 academy awards, sorry but I don't see your point.

Really? I actually never saw that movie, I just googled all the movies he mentionated and found the avatar accolade list.

Now that you mention it, I always wondered why "The Amazing Spider-Man" won less money than any of the previous Spider-Man films.
I like the new Spider-Man way more than the previous, and even through it is the least earning Spider-Man film, it is the best to me.

So if you can't measure a movie's quality by the money it wins, the reviews it gains, and the popularity it has, then how can you measure it?
I know that some awful stuff is really overrated (Avatar winning over 2,000,000,000 Dollars, One Piece being the most selled manga...), but I always wondered why amazing, more deseving stuff always wins less than that.
