they didn't count her as a newcomer though box-wise which is the confusing thing the question mark is probably just a little tidbit, i'd ignore that personally
i don't 'refuse to see' that there's a possibility she's pretty much just a skin, i do not and will never see toon link as a skin
sure she could be a clone but a clone is still a newcomer, do you not consider dr. mario, young link, pichu, or falco newcomers?

I never once said that a clone couldn't be a newcomer, I said a clone is not an alt skin. Lucina is not an alt skin. She's a newcomer, and her own character. The reason why she doesn't have a larger box is most likely because her newcomer portrait is the same as Robin's.

It's very difficult to call Toon Link a clone because his size (and therefore his hurt- and hitboxes) is entirely different. Whereas Lucina seems like she has the same proportions as Marth. I'm gonna wait a bit before I comment on Lucina as a character but I gotta say that either or I'm not thrilled about her, although that may be because I'm not super interested in Fire Emblem.

Ah, I forgot about that bit... haven't played it in a while. That would make a bit more sense

"I suppose I'll get my chance...another day..."It's more of a middle finger to some, but it's still a character reveal trailer with a "Maybe later" thing going on. We still haven't heard about Dark Pit or Game and Watch. I do understand that he's a Final Smash, though. It was just a trend I noticed.

The key difference is that Marth and Lucina have roughly equal proportions so they require no extra balance due to hitbox sizes Mii Fighters have no portrait at all, and they still have the long box Not saying she's an alt but get your facts straight please

but melee had characters that were similar as totally different characters, just look at doctor mario and mario i know that marth and lucina aren't the same person but lucina masqueraded as marth, did she not? wii fit trainer and male wft along with male/female villagers aren't the same person (entirely) and are still costumes the only thing i can't explain is why lucina has a spot and male wft doesn't
edit: ooh ooh wait maybe different customization options?

Term, that's because it's 3 characters in one. I don't know why they don't have an art image, but lucina is in robin's artwork. My point it, as long as the creators and the website say she's a newcomer, she's a newcomer. forget the website. forget that they have similar hitboxes or whatever. That doesn't matter.

they have completely different attacks and stuff everything we've seen from lucina has been the same as marth so far, which is confusing along with the non-newcomer box on the home page hopefully we get clarification soon

@mightyxtreme I feel like you're not really getting my point here She's a weird case. You really need to stop vehemently defending her based on no information at all. Wait for the next few potds those aren't clones you silly goose

I know they aren't, that's my f*** point
Similar proportions and similar attacks doesn't make someone a clone.
Toon Link is a dumb example. Falco and Wolf aren't
That's what I was saying

the not being a newcomer side of the argument's evidence of not having a 'newcomer box' is not as strong as the opposing side's argument of 'it literally says newcomer on her page'
