You... actually I never thought about it that way. Although I should point out that Square Enix and Sony are actually a lot less like Game Freak and more like Sega if we compare Nintendo to Sony. Yes most of their stuff is on PlayStation, but they branch out to other consoles (most notably Nintendo handhelds) a lot.

I really don't think this is going to happen. Some people like Lightning but the fact that Final Fantasy XIII was so poorly-received ruins any chance she may have, in my opinion.

Furthermore, XIII was multiplatform whereas VII was exclusively on PS1. Cloud himself has also only appeared on Sony consoles (with the exception of his incarnations in the Kingdom Hearts series...) so Cloud does seem to be the most likely candidate.

EDIT: Then again, if the general from Killzone made it in, that's a good clue that the guys in charge of character selection really don't care about the quality of the games that the characters are pulled from. With that being said, however, I still think that Lightning has little-to-no chance of making the roster because Final Fantasy XIII isn't a part of the PlayStation's history whereas Crash, Spyro, and Final Fantasy VII all were.


Not trying to bash your opinion or anything, but after the bad way that Square-Enix has been handling the Final Fantasy series in recent years, do you seriously want a FFVII remake anymore? No offense, but if you're smart, the answer would be "no".

My mistake, I wasn't aware it got a PS release. Still, the game is more iconic for Nintendo than Sony. If we get something from Square, it's gonna be Cloud/Lightning and then Sora - Beyond that, MAYBE someone from Cross, but I'd say it's a long shot.


The answer is no, but it's because I don't enjoy rpgs much. Kinda liked the first two Final Fantasy games, but by the time I got around to trying the others, I had no interest.

That aside, you can't deny that a remake of that game would sell millions effortlessly.

Also, while your points for Cloud over Lightning are true, consider this: Lightning was in the "Micheal" commercial, not Cloud. Not saying that's any indication of what will be in this game - it isn't, at all - but Sony wanted her in, not him. Just worth noting.

Specially considering that everyone seems to hate Cross for... some odd reason that I don't quite get. My only thing is that some of the characters are just pointlessly stupid *coughcoughfunguycough* but that's getting off topic.

Either way as much as I'd like to argue Cloud, my fanboyism for Lightning is telling me that you not only have a point, but she would make an awesome addition. I just wonder how/if they're going to incorporate Odin.

I think that Final Fantasy IV should be given the same treatment as Chrono Trigger (half because I'm a raging fanboy and half because they were released on the PS1 together as a double pack)

But the Playstation release was a port, the original game was on SNES, therfore not a Sony title, and shouldnt be eligible for this game. The only Final Fantasy titles whose characters should appear is any from 7-13 as those all originated on Sony consoles.

Lightning, as much as I want her, I'm a little iffy on though. Only considering XIII is a multi-console game. However what you said proves my indirect point being that Cecil doesn't have a large chance of being in.

Cecil probably has next to no chance of getting in. If they were to use any Final Fantasy character, it would likely be Cloud or Lightning, as VII and XIII are probably the most well known Final Fantasy titles on Playstation. X was well known too, but im doubting people want to see Tidus lol.

I think it would be nice if some of the older forgotten Sony Characters were put in ya know?
And about the Final Fantasy Character discussion. I think favor Cloud only because Final Fantasy VII "revolutionized" RPGS, or JRPG's anyways. It was almost the best selling game on the Playstation and the first game to be the first at pretty much everything.

Well, it obviously isn't the full cast. However, if it's true, we can infer that:

-Cole, Crash, Gex, Jak, Nathan Drake, Ratchet, Rayman and Spyro are playable
-Clank, Daxter, Dr. Nefarious, Dr. Neo Cortex, and Victor Sullivan are in the game somewhere, likely as background features or attacks for other characters
-Crash and Spyro are almost certainly their s*** new versions (As evidenced by their voice actors)

My thoughts: Some of those characters were obvious. Gex and Rayman are great additions though, especially the former. I grew up on Crash and Spyro, but pancakes crash/downs syndrome Spyro are f*** awful. Hope there's some kind of alternate costume there at least, for their older versions.

I'll believe it if one of the third party characters get confirmed - The first party ones are just too safe. I mean, yeah, InFamous, Jak and Daxter, Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank. Those are some of the biggest Playstation franchises, of course they're in. But the others, especially Gex and Rayman, have a lot less of a chance. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah, I'm not believing that IMBD list at all (because it's IMBD).

Although if Crash and Spyro do get in, I would assume they would go with the original PS1-era designs... Other PS1-era characters I can see getting in would be Cloud, Lara Croft, and Spike from Ape Escape. Any more would depend on how big the roster will end up being, unless there other obvious ones that I've forgotten (I'm not too familiar with the PS1-era)...

Also, although the guy is really new, I think the protagonist from the upcoming Sorcery game would be an interesting character and be a better representative for the Move games than that Eyepet thing.
