This Green Hill Zone's lakes have dried up, leaving only sand (I think). It's probably to emphasize the damage Eggman's done (he filled Green Hill with traps yet the actual location isn't destroyed or anything? lol ok)

Also the narrator of the direct talked about Classic Sonic like we don't know him. Which is weird because he then goes on to talk about Mania...

Sounds like a poor excuse to bring back Classic, in my opinion.

We didn't really need Classic back, since Classic fans were getting Mania already. The fact that they brought back Green Hill seems to anger a good few people since they apparently do it in almost every Sonic game but honestly, that's no reason to complain.

If they pulled a Sonic Rivals whereby Classic forgot Modern, that'd just make Generations' plot even more useless.

And I don't think Eggman's damage would cause Green Hill to become sandy unless he teamed up with Dr. Robotnik again. If you look closely, you can see pyramids in Green Hill's background. It's as if Green Hill was placed in the middle of a desert, rather than being turned into one.

And about the third character, I feel like they'll pull a DB Xenoverse on us and make the third character your own OC. This is evident through the slogan "join the resistance" and the fact that they said the third character is "unexpected" and "plays an important role in the story and embodies the overall features of the game".

I couldn't imagine a character with such a significantly higher role than Sonic other than yourself. But again, that's just a theory. All will be revealed in E3.

I heard we'll be getting new Sonic Forces footage later today too, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

If Sonic OCs/self-inserts ever become canon it would pretty much signal the end of the world yes.

Why would Eggman "summon" Classic back to the present? Perhaps an attempt to f*** up time even more? Or maybe he loves getting his a** kicked by two Sonics?

Maybe Eggman's actions resulted in Classic Sonic being summoned to the present? What if Eggman's newfound power is something like the Time Eater, where he opens rifts through dimensions and takes things from there? And Classic just happened to be caught up in one rather than Eggman targeting him specifically?

Also, what if that model in particular is the actual new character, but you get to customize them? You can customize the character's gloves, shoes, gear, etc. and even change up their stats to make them fast but with little damage, strong but not as fast, balanced, etc.
