Note the missing hole. I believe ridley breaks through the wall and flys in and out afterward. Look at how everything lines up. Ridley is the only logical choice for "an enemy from Samus' past" to come breaking through the wall. |

Ridley doesnt have to be a hazard though, he could be a background character much like Kraid and Mother Brain in Melee.

Hazard and Background Element are interchangeable in this case I suppose.

On second observation, I'm not completely sure that those two screenshots are showing the exact same area of the stage. At the same time, I don't think the giant hole in the scenery would be there at the beginning of the match.
Just what area is this, anyway? |
