It looks like the pikmin picks up the item if you hit the item with said thrown pikmin, just like in the Pikmin games.

Played the demo today, both versions played fantastically and feel like it's really living up to the hype

My best buy was once agin crowded so they did 2 minute matches instead of 4 so we saw no items not even once

I love watching videos of Smash Run. Because basically every time I watch a new one I see at least 1 new enemy
So far I've seen more than 60 different enemies in Smash Run, including 5 different Pokemon! (Koffing, Ghastly, Cryogonal, Petilil, and Chanelure) + 3rd parties like the EggRobo from Sonic, Pookas from Pac Man, and Mettaurs from Megaman! My newest find is Bonkers, from the Kirby series (see attachment below). If any of you guys have vids from smash run, send the links, I'm totally obsessed! _________________  Current projects: Black Knight F.E. (85%) an edit Ganondorf T.P. I really, really like how Smash Run can add all these common enemies to the game. It's an area that couldn't have been represented previously (other than f***' trophies, but who cares). I honestly can't wait to see all the enemies, as I'm sure there's gonna be some more creative pulls (like Sneaky Spirit or the sprite Cucco)
Although I will admit it gets old after a few games. I kinda just wanted to do some vs matches yesterday, but they wouldn't have that s***. It's a lot of fun, just not as the ONLY mode in the game |

Pookas were in smash run? That basically guarantees Dig Dug in the game somehow (likely as an assist trophy/one of those namco random game helper things).

It doesn't guarantee Dig Dug, since he's more or less a part of Pac-lore right now. When your only other characters are ghosts, you improvise.
