It would surprise the crap out of me if Toon Link wasn't an unlockable character. I sorta feel Rosalina wouldn't be a starting character either because of all the other Mario series starters.

Who knows. Why would Link and a clone character of Link be playable from the get-go?
Why do people show Boss Fights in trailers? Why are any new pokemon reviled before launch?
Maybe some secrets are told so people will not only buy the game for them, but also invest time playing to actually unlock/get to them?

What? If you're going to compare this game to another one, compare it to Brawl
In Brawl's case the only secret characters revealed before launch were Snake and Sonic
So probably Mega Man and Sonic are unlocks in this game ((if they do the same thing this time))

Still, Young Link/Toon Link were both unlockables, it doesn't follow he wouldn't be an unlockable this time around, since he has nothing really special to add to the default playables. He's really just a cute gimmick.
Who knows if Rosalina is a unlockable or not. I just said she doesn't seem like a starting character with all the other Mario characters. It's one thing to flood smash with any particular series, it's another to flood the starting roster with it.

I think they were stuck between wanting to make them really feel like bonus characters and wanting to promote them for lods of emone Business vs art maybe

Obviously you just threw it together. Anyways, am I the only one who wants a few final smashes changed around? (Changed =/= replaced, things could be tweaked to make the moves better) Namely, Super Sonic, just because he was so hard to control, and just felt floaty. (although that might have been the point, I dunno)

Mega Man should be there from the get-go since he's such a huge hit, Sonic can stay unlockable.
I feel like Luigi and Toon Link almost have to be secret characters and were jsut announced because of special occasions.

You mean unlockables because they are not a secret anymore. Well espically in Luigi's case since we knew from the get-go that he would return. I think Sonic should be a starter now since we already know how he works and he is not secret, but that's just me. The same goes for TL and Lucario. _________________

I'd rather see most veterans as starters and most of the newcomers as unlockables. Much more exciting that way, but that's just me.
