It may not have been his own game, but Bowser had the limelight throughout most of Bowser's Inside Story, to the point where you could basically call Bowser the main character in that game.

I think Bowser's Inside Story is as good as he's gonna get. He was also a hero in Super Paper Mario, and to a much lesser extent playable in Thousand Year Door.

I can't really see a villain game for any of the franchises, either. Ganondorf probably won't get his own game anytime soon.

Wario was only a villain in Super Mario Land 2, though. Since then, he's been more of an anti-hero.

Bowser getting his own game does sound like a great idea, though. Perhaps an alternate-universe take where Mario has developed a sense of entitlement from saving Peach over and over again and abducts her himself so it falls to Bowser to save her. (It wouldn't be the first game where Mario was the villain...)

Bowser is more or less the de facto villain. Putting him in a role where he is actually a hero (and not the anti hero he was in Bowser's Inside Story or Super Paper Mario) would probably alienate players from the character. That being said, just go karting with him.

If Bowser had his own game, I'd have my doubts as to whether Mario would even be in the game at all. Look what happened to Dr Robotnik.

That's a whole different story, since that was only puyo puyo with dr. robotnik slapped onto it last minute.
Seeing an actual bowser game would've been better than toad honestly...

I like bowser, I think he's underrated because of his recurring boss position. I didn't say I didn't like toad, I'm fine with him having a game.

Honestly though I hope the Captain Toad game is gonna be more than just a full game of CT levels from 3D World, otherwise I'm missing the point since I didn't find those levels as entertaining as the regular levels. Though obviously people liked them so that's cool for them I guess. I might pass on that game though.

I don't even know what you guys are talking about with Robotnik. Mean Bean Machine wasn't his own game, you didn't play as Eggman. Sonic just wasn't in the game.

The game was named after him though.
