But I think Super Smash Flash 2 is personally my favorite Smash game by far. And it's really funny, because it's not even official.

I've played each and every single Smash official Smash title casually (and Smash 4 competitively), but none of these games have ever reached to me as well as SSF2.

It's like a faster-paced version of Smash 4, and Melee without finger-destroying techs & wave-dashing. I could never get into Melee or Project M competitively but I also felt that transitioning to Smash 4's slower pace felt weird and awkward, so SSF2 was my next best alternative. The characters feel so smooth and fluid to the point where they feel like they came straight from an official Smash title. Each and every character has a defined & unique play-style that makes them on-par with the official Smash characters..

The types of characters who stick out the most are the newcomers: they've never been in an official Smash title, which makes them more fresh and more exciting to learn. I personally think SSF2's newcomers (Black Mage, Tails, and Isaac in particular) are more interesting than Smash 4's newcomers (Little Mac, Villager, Rosalina & Luma and Mega Man come to mind) in terms of playstyle.
I think & stick out the most, but my favorite newcomer to play as is !

I also like the competitive community as well. I don't enter tournaments a whole lot, but the time I've been in them, I had fun. The small & niche community might be a turn off for others, but that's my prime reason why I like the community: It never really feels like there's a wickedly-wide skill gap between the competitive players themselves because the metagame is still pretty underdeveloped and the community size is still small. Granted, there are some dominant players (especially Prolific & Chaos0 with his ongoing Tails rampage), but they lose sometimes (maybe).

To think that this amazing project has been in development for a decade now. Back when Luffy when was revealed, it actually hurt to see some people bash on the devs because they implemented a character who was anime (something that Smash fans consider asinine in the Smash universe). His moveset was grapple-based and his long range, but slightly weak knockback complimented his character archetype that I didn't think that could work, but it DID. I was just glad that he wasn't shoehorned because of the "Shonen Big 4". Even if some characters have some questionable character design (such as 0.9b Lloyd's Grave Blade and Goku's insane versatility) I'll continue to support this game (by playing that is) until it finishes development or if Nintendo C&Ds it.

I like Smash 64.

Smash 64 is indeed a good game. I love it. Luigi's fun to play.

I honestly don't understand why Luigi's bottom tier in that game. He is indeed super fun to play.
