KH1 is my favorite in the series

Then you have a wrong opinion
Gameplay-wise, at least. I understand if you like it because it's before the series introduced even more dumb JRPG s*** or something but if you like it the most because of the gameplay then you're wrong to do so

Nah, the later games definitely improved on the gameplay
But KH1 is much more simple and memorable than a lot of the sequels. It had a nice little self-contained story that wasn't totally stupid, it felt more like Disney had an actual part in the story rather than just there to move the gameplay while the original characters did their thing, and it has a lot of the most memorable moments in the series, like Chernobog, Stealth Sneak & Clayton, those optional bosses, the final Ansem fight & speeches, etc.
I still enjoy KHII and KH3D a lot, but KH1 is definitely my favorite
