Protip: let a friend of yours waste money on it, then mooch gameplay off of them. Since it's multiplayer anyways, they probably wont care.

My friends have decent taste in games so that probably won't happen.

Nah pls go It would be different if you had any legitimate criticisms, but angrily announcing your dislike for something contributes nothing to the thread. Contributing to the thread: Gameplay

I think this game tries a little too hard to be 'not Smash Bros.'. Kind of ironic, since everyone wanted it to be just like Smash Bros.
Other then the inclusion of Sly Cooper (is it me or did they change his voice actor? Not sure yet) and the whole Patapon vs. God of War thang, this game doesn't tickle my fancy. The gameplay, as Tid described it, feels a little bit limited. I hope matches can be customised to personal reference.

That actually looks really fun to me. Plus I'm glad that they're already giving us strategic advice for the game.

Nice generic reply, even though it doesn't apply to what I said. I never talked about other people's opinions of the game, only my own. You can like the game if you want. I was directly responding to someone else anyway. I'd say discussion is more valuable than linking a random video. Contributing to the thread: Trailer

I don't see what's wrong with it aside from the kill options, and that's not even that bad.

I dont really see the enjoyment here, the fighting/gameplay seems pretty stale even in comparison to SSB, even If I liked more than 2 of the characters, I'm sure I wouldn't enjoy it much more. The killing... What?!

You did.. kind of.. in a sense. You declared that your friends would not like the game either due to their specific taste. :3Anyway, from the looks of it, Sly is pretty much what I expected him to be, with smoke bombs and the glider, and the jetpack from Sly 1. Is it just me or does he teleport when using the Smoke Bombs though?

It sounds really ridiculous though. It's like "all of your first attacks are useless completely but do them anyway until you go lazorz on their a**"

How odd, because I thought it tried too hard to be Smash Bros. Then again I might just be crazy.

You find the idea of using weaker attacks to prepare for super attacks ridiculous? If im not mistaken, in most games that do have super attacks, they are more often than not used after a string of weaker attacks, and also you have to connect with weaker attacks to charge them, so its not much different here. Though if you are talking about the gameplay style in Dissidia, there is a specific reason for using regular attacks which deal no HP damage. Its to build up the strength of your next HP attack, so you do more HP damage with your HP attack the more you connect with weaker attacks. And HP attacks in Dissidia are by no means "Lazor" attacks, they are just normal attacks that deal HP damage. The "Lazor" attacks would be EX Bursts which work a little differently. EX Bursts are also HP attacks and can do just as little damage as HP attacks are capable of. It all depends on how much bravery you have.

And even with that the same principle can be applied to Smash Bros. too. You do a bunch of weaker attacks with no knockback to build up their percentage, and then a stronger attack with high knock back to get them off the stage.

Smash bros. is not the same, you have all of the same attacks available to you throughout the entire game. (Unless you use items :/) in this you dont have that, you just build up a bar until you can use this super attack, plus the combos dont really look that great, it seems your just doing 1-2 maybe 3 hits and then stopping, rinse, repeat...
