I've been thinking for a while, and talking to a lot of users to discuss the wonderful potential of this forum. I, as well as a few other people believe that a section where users are able to discuss or debate various issues or topics without worrying about the occasional troll or young user butting in and throwing everything off track would be good for the forum. There are a lot of bright, intelligent people on this forum and giving them a section where they'd be able to take their discussions to the next level would be great.

I realize that this idea has been tried in the past, but they were destined to fail due to the lack of moderation in the section. There would be a user-group for the section that would need to be actively managed, to add fresh people and remove sour grapes so they don't spoil the bunch. I'd take full responsibility if there's no other mod that wants to help, and I'll make sure it's run with no issues or problem children.

There are so many ideas and topics to elaborate on. It's not only debate based, but we could discuss in depth several theories and just, i don't know, the possibilities are limitless. People are afraid to make these threads on the normal forum because they derail in less than 10 posts due to users who either aren't mature enough to handle the subject or someone who decides to troll.

tl;dr, please consider this section. It would be good for the forum and it's users, at least I think so. If you agree, click "yes please!" in the poll so we can get this up and running.

Well, It's kind of a good idea,but with calling it "Intelligent people debate section" you could offend some users if you wouldn't let 'em there. Also if you make it the way that there's an age limit for users to see the section it would be in vane,cause there are a lot of users who say that they're 18/17 but lie. By the other way, having some intelligent discussions like the meaning of life, scientific theorys and more phylosophic topics would be cool. In my opinion, this section could be really cool to have in the forums, so for my part I'm voting yes.

What would the age limit be? I'd expect 13, with few to no warnings. I wouldn't call this an "intelligence topic", more like a "responsible topic", because some people can be very arrogant but be very intelligent. Don't worry, I'd be on my best behavior. Count me in. 20 and 0.
