I heard from a former dev that Yoshi's grounded DownB is actually pretty good. Iirc they mainly talked about the really fast startup, but I can't remember much else. Personally I found that since it stalls in the air, it can bait/whiff antiairs and punish, depending on the distance between Yoshi and the opponent, and the attack used to antiair.

It's not a bad move, it can extend combos, but if it had kill power, that'd be nice.

It was Void, and it was about the fast startup. It comes out frame 2, so it's almost as fast as Fox's shine or ZSS' jab, and just as fast as Falcon's jab. The knockback properties it has aren't good for killing, but it's enough to be a nuisance in the "get off me" kind of way. Basically, it's his grounded panic option, with neutral air being his aerial panic option (but since jump has armour, that can also work).

I'm hoping they give Yoshi's sprite a touch up in beta. He looks kind of dull, and some elements of him look really derpy. Also, I'm really hoping his forward smash and down-special get more power behind them.

Eh. I'd prefer a range buff on Fsmash, a KBG reduction(slightly) too.
Dsmash(2nd hit;behind) would be a nice kill option, but hard to space.
And Yoshi's tail is next to puny in almost every animation when he is not using it

When Yoshi ground pounds, shine like spike, would lead into stars if landed on stage, and is a savage kill option offstage, near the edge

If Yoshi got a resprite, I'd repick him up again. Don't get me wrong, its nice, and a hell of a lot better than crusade but I'd feel as though Yoshi is lacking, and more than just his tail in most animations

Admittedly, that's a...BIG part of why I'm just not feeling up to playing as Yoshi right now. TBH, it was also why I had sort of given up on Mario (in v0.9a), Princess Peach, and even Wario for quite a while in v0.9b. I really hope Yoshi gets a touch-up soon, alongside DK.
