If you want to romanise anything just put it into Google translate and it'll show up under the original text

Silent Machine by Twelve Foot Ninja
Preview: Coming For You

I was actually supposed to do Periphery today but I forgot to put it on my player somehow (lol). Decided to do tomorrow's instead But I f*** that up too, since tomorrow was supposed to be Fiona Apple :x Fiona tomorrow, Periphery Wednesday, then regularly scheduled programming

These guys are a nu metal group that like to experiment with all kinds of interesting sounds & styles. The album explores fusions of their nu metal sound with 70s funk, reggae, salsa, world, and some electronic widdly diddlies, among others. That said it is primarily a nu metal album, and I'm really not a fan of the genre in general. I do find this album to be much more interesting than the average nu metal record, and I might even spin some parts of it later (such as the closer, Luna, which is a pretty enjoyable track all things considered).

I don't dislike it, but I can tell it's not going to get many spins from me. The fact that their primary sound is nu metal is a pretty big turnoff for me personally. I'm sure I'd have enjoyed it a few years back, but I think the time has passed.

Rating: Okay

since you enjoyed the interesting ideas aspect, try their New Dawn EP, it has a ton more interesting ideas (like a downtempo-y lounge track)

Rasmus Seebach - Self Titled

I don't think this guy's ever broke into any primary english speaking countries but he's a huge pop hit in denmark. he's handsome and his voice is handsome so i got the album(i heard the main single somewhere)

What I got from this album was a bunch of really solid pop songs with memorability and lasting power. They're catchy, they keep me interested, it's pop done right. I bob my head to the songs, I need to look up a danish pronunciation guide so I can sing along. This album seriously surprised me, I expected it to be one of my worst albums but this is seriously a wonderful pop album.
Since I don't speak danish I'm gonna pretend his lyrics are beautifully written and what all mainstream pop artists should strive for.
8.5/10
kinda bummed out i've only gotten one lame album

hey blossom i also listened to a pop album :D

Kimbra - The Golden Echo

so Kimbra is a pretty eccentric chick, her album has lots of electronic poppy elements with some funk and hip-hop, the first half of the album has lots of energy like 90s Music, the first half is pretty catchy, second half is way more slow featuring things like piano and that good stuff, it's calming and relaxing

Solid pop album that has some experimental bits sprinkled about, 7/10

Earth - Primitive and Deadly

It was alright. Kind of a let down. The tracks with vocals weren't very good.
Don't have much to say about it, really. The first track is nice and the rest is kind of not very good. Most other Earth albums are a lot better.

4-5/10

Himuki - Fertile Village

A japanese hip-hop album. Some instrumental tracks, some collabs. It's not top level hip-hop but the instrumentals are pretty good. I don't have much to say, it didn't surprise me with anything(except the track that made me buy the album) but it's a good listen.

The tracks I want to share aren't anywhere online but here's my fav track

Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will

Mogwai is a post rock band, this album is boring and has annoying panning/sounds, listen to Mr Beast instead, much better album.

3/10

The Idler Wheel is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do by Fiona Apple
Preview: Hot Knife

Fiona plays this kind of indie rock/jazz thing that reminds me a whole lot of Erin McKeown, especially in her voice (although it seems Fiona is much more well known than Erin is..)

It's not the kind of music I usually listen to but I enjoyed it I guess. The last track (preview) has a lot of layered vocals and I'm a huge sucker for that s***. Spin that preview. I'm gonna have to give it another spin or two before I decide how I'm feeling, I think.

Red Fang - Whales And Leeches

Red Fang is a stoner rock band, usually I enjoy this genre, with artists such as Wo Fat, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Sword, etc. So I gave this band a fair chance, their panning of guitars really upset me and it was generally boring, Vocalist, however is kinda cool, so I rate this 4/10.

I forgot to do a writeup but I wasn't real impressed with Clear by Periphery

Vocals are kinda whiny and I don't like metal much anyway sorry Nix

Concept was cool as f*** though (EP with each member of the band writing one song)

Rating: Okay whoosp

Also I decided to put a rating of Okay-good on The Idler Wheel
