I must admit I know very little of the actual popularity of political parties in Switzerland, but I really do wonder how high the turnout was.
I think it is a dreadful initiative.
Our local xenophobic bigot is reported orgasmising about it in the media already.

My local newspapers had the figures. 57% of the people voted to ban the things, but only 54% of the populace went to vote.
Here, it's no better, though, they just use excuses or delay the plans in order to halt the construction. At least the Swiss are being honest of their opinion, even if it is hypocritical.

The Swiss are purportedly dead neutral, though. This doesn't exactly support that.

"Dead neutral" being that they played both sides of the field, you mean?

They may have all the money in the world but now I bet that's going to go belly up as soon as a few of them "blow up" or something.

It is possible to argue the Swiss constitution now contains a contradiction, according to the Swiss Greens. They consider taking this case to the European Court of Human Rights. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minaret_co ... witzerland
