Today I made a resume, tomorrow I'm getting a haircut to look nice then applying to my local grocery store, which is super close, so close that i wouldn't need to take the bus there. So yeah, hope I get a job there and make some $$$.

Customers getting upset at something you have no control over is actually something that happens in nearly every field of work. It really sucks, I agree, but I would argue that the best way to deal with it is to not let it bother you, Luke. You can usually point out that there are regulations that you have no control over as well (with the eggs, yu can just explain the the company des that for a reason, and if not you can always just get your manager). Obviously if they cross the line you don't have to take s*** either- just tell them that you'll get your manager, usually that calms people down as well.
Also the best way to annoy people like that is to actually be super kind and professional in return in my opinion. Try it, it's hilarious. _________________    (you can now tweet mean things at me on Twitter @StevenEggplant) |

With Steven on this. You don't have to take abuse and you can speak up but if they're just being dismissive or whatever, you can 99% of the time make them feel incredibly uncomfortable if you rebuke it with ultra over the top sincere niceness and it's very funny.

yeah, i normally do just that and it's really satisfying. the other day was just really rough. it's been getting better gradually, i'm about to go back in in a few minutes (despite physically feeling tired i'm in a much better attitude and i feel like i could be very patient with dumb customers)
