Worst SSF2 Beta Nerfs Ever!

Seems like that Sonic :sonic: and Naruto :naruto: were nerfed the worst!


Sonic :sonic: nerf:


Sonic's speed was reduced drastically! It seems like he is not himself in SFF2 beta, his moves were nerfed and one of his moves was removed. His bounce (Down+Special in Air) from Sonic Adventure 2 is removed! His new style is quite good, even better than the Sonic Advance sprites, but his running animation is quite dull, his legs seem detached while running.

His stages are good, although some are missing they're hazards, the hazards will be back as tson said on his post for beta.


Naruto :naruto: nerf:


Naruto's attacks have been reduced and his fūton rasenshuriken's damage was also reduced drastically! He doesn't feel like a ninja he used to be in alpha. My friend, who is a Naruto main, complained how is now way weaker and his combos are way harder than it used to be. None of his moves were removed, I think.

Hidden Leaf Village is still good ol' stage and I have none complains for it, best stage so far!


All these nerfs aside, they are quite the BEST characters to play new Arena Mode (Sandbag Football) along with:
-Pac-man pacman
-Bowser :bowser:
-Tails :tails:
-Bomberman :bomberman:



Although I have a lot of problems with beta, I still LOVE it! Best update so far, keep up the good work!

Black mage got his old Side Taunt replaced with a lamer one which is a huge nerf that affected the entire BM metagame.

Jokes aside Side-B is really hard to connect now and having Meteor shrink back to tiny size after landing with it from the air is also terrible. Charged Dsmash also travels a lot slower now.

smh didn't mention broken (in a terrible, completely unusable, way) hitboxes of UAir

huge damage reduction on NAir

and the lack of Angling in Meteo, which was his best tool for winning neutral, with him having arguably one of the worst neutrals ingame

Wait we could ANGLE Meteo?!
(I don't use nair often and I find uair's weird hitboxes situationally usable so I didn't mention thsoe.)

Naruto definately deserved what was coming to him. I don't think there's any way to make everyone stop spamming up-B though.

F-throw damage from 9% to 2% (wtf mcleod)
Down Smash near the ledge to down special spike is gone now unless you charge Down Smash a bit more
She can't d-air spike her opponents without her dying (I think?) Also the spike is now less...spikey.
Her jab isn't a 1-frame jab anymore.
Smaller up special ledge grab box(she kinda deserved this one)

:zerosuitsamus: is just one of those characters that are impossible to figure out, and once you do, you realize they're actually just bad.

Ngl she kinda really deserved a lot of her nerfs. As a former ZSS main who was almost not quite competitive, I can say she used to be really really good. Someone reputable canprobably attestto that statement, too.

Yes, she was high performing. Solid combos, good edge guard, great disjoints on a lot of her moves, and great anti-air kit.

I love her up-smash and Nair, those are HUGE assets now in addition to still solid aerials/tilts that can make up for a lost gimmick. Right now, unfortunately, the meta is not in her favor. Her recovery is a bit predictable, making it really undesirable to recover horizontally/low and she's a pretty tall combo-weight that kills late. Her throw trajectories have taken a bit of a hit, too, in addition to Uair connecting less reliably from a lot of her ground moves/up-throw.

When I compare her from v0.9b to now, she just feels less smooth and consistent.
