Hello, my name is Delra.

I am a sprite artist, and I planned on making a mod for a game called "Terraria". But I need a skilled XNA C# coder who can help making a mod for me. The mod would be a pokemon mod.

The thread is here: http://www.terrariaonline.com/threads/p ... oon.60798/

If you are intrested, please go to the thread, make an account, and post on that thread saying you want to be a coder. We'll talk more there.

Oh dear oh my. There are some things people aren't telling you that you really should know!! I will say at least one of these things.

Let's start with your inability to garner talented coders. You haven't been able to find any because most people, level-headed people who are busy with their own things, see your project as a waste of their time. So far, the only legitimate proof you've shown are some inventory icons, those being the pokéballs. Wild theorizing is all talk, and talk doesn't get things done; all it does, in fact, is make the path to getting things done a little less rocky. You'll never get where you're going if you don't focus on the destination, but gosh darn if you've taken more than a few legitimate steps.

What I am saying is this! You will have much more success if you know what you're doing, stop accepting every little idea that comes to your humble thread, and just start spriting -now-. This project sounds interesting-I readily admit--, but without evidence of it actually being a project, it's an idea. Ideas usually don't pan out unless you a- take initiative and show you're able to do your proposed job or b- pay dudes to do everything for you. From my perspective, you certainly aren't doling out any dosh, so it seems your only obvious choice lies with the former.

Now let us talk about what you're -asking- of these nonexistent coder dudes. Far, far too much for a game without mod support! You are essentially asking for an entirely new game to be created from scratch, if we're being realistic; that is an awful lot of work, and also realistically, the experienced coders you're looking for pay their own bills. These dudes would likely be adverse to utilizing their experience for something that won't earn them money, and they're completely entitled to be. You are looking for one specific dude who will do this-and do it competently-- as a labor of love, and that is one specific dude in a sea of billions. In the time it'd likely take, you could probably just make the whole darn thing yourself; then, you'd even be on a road to having talents many people want for themselves.

I don't intend to put you down, but if you really, really want this to happen, you're gonna have to stop being so childish about it. Taking these words to heart would be in your best interest.

At any rate, good luck in your ventures~

if you're going to put the effort in to learn a C based language for the sake of games, make it c++

I'm already learning c++ I just never thought of using it for games, it was more for convenience. I'll keep it in mind.

If you want to go into game design it's your best bet.
At least IMO.
