TBF, his 'newer' design in Awakening was just the basic Mercenary look. Though the artwork was awesome.

Assuming he'll be changed for the better like Mewtwo, hopefully he'll have a bit more knockback and less ending lag with everything so he can actually compete against Marth and Lucina.

I wasn't wanting Roy at first, but the more I thought about it and went back to melee. He does play a fair amount different than Marth, though still a clone, is more different than Lucina so if people thought Lucina wasn't that fun they may like Roy, again, assuming he's changed to not suck as much.

Ryu on the otherhand is HUGE news. Possibly bigger than Mega Man and Pac-Man combined. He's from the biggest fighting game, most popular fighting game character, and if it wasn't for SFII we wouldn't even have the fighting game genre. But it SUCKS so much that these were leaked the day or a few days before they were gonna be official.

Dreamland 64 is confirmed to be a legal stage returning thank god, but I hope that doesn't de-confirm Fountain of Dreams.
Ryu's stage in the 3DS version looks to be a 16-bit art style, with the Wii U version being in a SF4 3d art style. They'll most likely be the same stage, but from the 3ds icon it looks like it has a walk-off so it most likely won't be tourney legal. (I hope I'm wrong, this game needs more basic stages)

EDIT: Recently sound files of Blue Birds and Monkey Watch from Rhythm Heaven have been found, possibly a rhythm heaven stage? Or just new music added. Remember there was a Rhythm Heaven character that was cut very early in development, I'd hope that character would get to see the light as dlc.

Ryu and original Mega Man will be together in same fighting game after over 15 years.

Roy seems to have the same moveset as Melee, but I hope Sakurai takes some inspiration from Project M and makes his playstyle into a semi-clone.

I may actually switch from lucina to roy if they reduce his ending lag.
In melee he was a clone but he still worked a surprisingly amount different from marth. His Up special can trap people in it and burn them, his side special had a bit more knockback so it was sort of hard to keep them in it but the strength in the last his was very strong compared to marth. his counter was stronger but had more ending lag which sucked, and his neurtal special could kill at very low percents if timed right.
Though he didn't even come close to marth because of his ending lag, again I REALLY hope they reduce it so he can compete.

it was tomorrow literally they were gonna announce s*** at 7 in the f*** morning pacific time and no one could wait. god nothing is sacred anymore. i mean this is worse than the leaks last f*** year. those were months before the reveals plus were of s*** quality so we still had speculation on their credibility. But this is of high quality and literally the day before they are revealed. that literally sucked all the shock and aw right out of my system on this whole matter.

Like i wouldn't be so mad if it wasn't literally gonna be announced tomorrow. i know they had found the files earlier but i still feel that wasn't enough to go on but this s***. I would rather be hyped up and jaw dropped watching the reveal trailer with it's awesome detail than some guy posting files and s***.

Man, people cannot just wait. Maybe that's the reason I haven't played Smash for 5 months, there is no more surprises in the game itself. I hope this can turn around for them by surprising us what modes we get.

Like at this point im starting to calm down it's just to me personally presentation feels like an important factor to when someone reveals anything. whenever someone leaks something in a just throw it on your lap way it feels so "why did you do this now"

i've already argued with a friend days before this about something else and he said how seeing something before it happens officially doesn't bother him alot so i understand it doesn't piss everyone off. not like im saying it should. i'm just on the side that feels like it kinda sucks that someone would do this imo.

I see people put out leaks months back and people can have their own thoughts on it and wait till the direct but actually showing a official video a day before the direct makes the direct less hype now. Its always about presentation. It was just like, "Well here is Ryu and Roy." instead-of the hype reviled video.
