I personally find the "God Hates Flags" one particularly witty.

That said however, I don't understand the motivation.

The point was to parody the pretentiousness of today's politics, it wasn't really supposed to focus on anyone in particular (some people never seem to understand that though, which is why there was still some finger-pointing)

Comedy Central expected a turn up of 60,000 people.

Myth Busters estimated it was around 150,000 people.

CTV throws 215,000 at us (which has been taken over by various media outlets and wikipedia)

After seeing the crowd, I think it's safe to say we're in six digits.

Representing the silent majority, the people who are so often forgotten because they don't stand on rooftops shouting the end of times or saying that all muslims are terrorists. I don't understand why so many reporters are having issues getting that through their thick skull.

Because its not sensational!

Hakker, the media chooses what it wants to portray.
It chooses what fits the agenda and what will get ratings.

silent majority gets ratings not.

I'm talking about the media reporting on the rally, though, not the media reporting on some idiot deciding to burn a holy tome on 9/11. Up to the very morning of the rally, reporters STILL didn't understand the point of it, and I could've told you it two days after they first announced it.

It really interesting that they are so puzzled, Stewart and Colbert have not been very

covert about the motivations for this rally. Aside that, the "protesters" would have to be a special kind of paragnost to know the purpose if it wasn't public.
