Alright So my friend is a link main and he is so hard to beat. First of all he always uses that spin move when I get close to him. Second of all he gets the bomb and throws it at me or shoots it at me and it comes out of nowhere. And whenever he wins he brags like nobodys buisness to my other friends. Saying how "OH I KICKED HIS a** REAL BAD" and all that junk. And Im really getting sick of it but theres nothing I can do since his Link main is so annoying

First off, we do have Character Specific Threads for things like this. Start posting stuff in there if you have a simple question you would like to ask.

Second, Learn how to be patient. Link shouldn't be a problem if you know how to avoid his projectiles, or read his attacks. Playing aggressive against a spammy link is what they expect you to do, and therefore it lets them have their way with you. Simply bait out his attacks and punish afterwards. And since you already know what the link will throw out, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Basically, Link has lag. Stay within his range so he can't throw projectiles without getting punished, and then rush in when you get an opportunity. Link is a punching bag, so you can get tons of damage. Beware of dair, although it's usually a free punish, and beware of dtilt offstage. That's about it. Play against good Links online if you can.

Pick C Falcon into him. Spam Neutral Bs. You'll be okay.

In actuality, Lloyd is the hardest character to use, and the worst character in the game, followed by Marth. Do not listen to this imposter. The power of Falcon Punch flows within you, child.

No stupid, its obviously ZSS and Meta Knight. Wario and Chibi Robo are the best characters in the game, stop lying jeez. Why don't people learn so facts before coming up with something stupid....

More of a tip rather than a guideline, but if you launch link off the side while hes holding a bomb, it can explode in their hand, either KO'ing them or making it much harder for them to recover.

Watch out for Link's Gale Boomerang. If you get caught by it on the return, it will f*** you up, especially if you're taken offstage by it. I've taken over 70% damage from a single boomerang in this fashion.

When he does the grounded sword spin, attack from above. A missed sword spin is essentially an invitation to get a free hit off of him.

Other than that, spacing is key. A character like Naruto can out-cheese him with his shadow clones, while Marth is both faster and stronger overall. Just bait out an attack, and punish on the endlag. Link is definitely one of the infamous "noob killer"-type characters, but he becomes much easier to deal with once you learn how he plays.

first tip: don't post using ALL-CAPS. it both makes you look dumb, and it also hurts the eyes.

it also reveals something: you ARE playing in a dumb manner.
but this is not an insult, let me explain.

all characters are built with a specific purpose and optimal strategy. for instance, sora is built for endless, hard to escape, damaging combos. in turn, he stinks with projectile camping, because his only projectile is arguably the worst in the game. see my point?


you are losing all the time against that link player simply because his character is built for projectile camping. he EXPECTS you to rush him, since being close in makes using projectiles difficult and punishable. thus, he already knows what your plan is, all he has to do is keep spaming and adjust his aim.

why dont you pick someone like Fox against him and abuse Reflect? that way he will lose his ranged supremacy, and up-close fox is devastating soon as you can go past his sword disjoint.

First and only tip. Practice and study. Learn the damn character play link and find out his weaknesses. Overall
