I completely forgot that this forum is the only place that goes full autism about that. My apologies.
But seriously, Coded is the most f*** retarded entry into the series. The only good thing that's come out of it was setting the stage for BBS and 3D's battle mechanics, and even then it's pretty obvious that they only kept the really good bits. It was really nice pretending that it didn't have anything to do with the series and that the King's talk with Yen Sid was because of something the wizard found/did instead of digitalizing the damn journal.

Birth By Sleep: January 9, 2010
However the last episode of the original Coded came out on January 28th, 2010, if that's worth noting.
So I guess I was wrong about Re:Coded setting the stage for Birth By Sleep's system (since I think the cellphone version uses something entirely different), which makes it even worse in my eyes.

I'm so glad they made synthesis more background work in II. Much as I like dicking around in games, the synthesis in the first game is fetch-quest tier and from what I've seen Final Mix REALLY didn't help.

KH1 hasn't aged the best, it's a 11 year old game so
i never played Re:CoM and it's really ugh too
I only played CoM and that was okay but Re:CoM is actually kinda worse, it's KH1 items with a KH2 engine, and Sora's voice is really deep. I know by then Osment had aged a lot but lmao
KH1 isn't as ugh as Re:Com, so be prepared
