Now, although I don't want to get involved in all this mumbo jumbo, I think we will see a final fantasy character or a dragon quest character rather then Geno, and here's why.

Both Mario and Final fantasy/Dragon Quest have had more then one crossover.

Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters would both fit into the Smash Bros. universe quite nicely.

Both series have been on a lot of, and started on, Nintendo platforms.

Both series have had their characters in 3D, while Geno would have to be re-designed to fit a 3D world.

All the characters that appear in Mario and Final fantasy/Dragon Quest crossovers have current voice actors, while Geno does not.

Now I'm getting involved, haha.


Geno was pre-rendered in a 3D style when SMRPG was created. While, no, it is not traditional 3D, it was the equivalent to it back in the SNES days. That being said, I don't believe they'd have a problem creating him. Look at all of the smash bros characters they've had to bring to life, like Ice Climbers, Pit, etc.

Again, I don't believe lack of a voice actor is something that would hold him back either. They get fresh voice actors every game, more or less. The only thing holding him back is the legal barrier.

Those were false rumors, hah. It's not like Square had a public press release concerning Geno's inclusion.

Super Mario RPG is beginning to be recognized once more (if only slightly), so while I can't say I would be surprised if he was included, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

That's not to say I wouldn't crap myself, though. I would be incredibly ecstatic.

However knowing the sense of humor some of the people in Square has they might put in Mallow just to screw with us, too. Not that he would be a bad character to have in there, but it would be interesting.

You'd have to remember though that those companies are on Sakurai's terms, not vice versa. Just like when it comes to Capcom, they can't say ZERO OR NOTHING because Sakurai knows about the fan base, and knows that the fan base is for Mega Man. I don't even think Capcom will have that much to do with the project anyway.

If Sakurai has, somehow, heard of SSF2, then the game could take a little influence from it. Although, I really, REALLY doubt this.

As much as I hate to say it, Geno is dead. There. I said it.

But if Square doesn't get a rep I wonder who would? Possibly Namco or Ubisoft? If it were one of those 2 I would shoot for Pac-Man or Rayman respectively.

But I do see a nice chance of pac-man getting in as an assist trophy. No idea how he would work as a character, but a nice idea for an assist trophy.

I always thought that was Toad Town from one of the Mario and Luigi games. Never could find it looking that up, though.

Square's just doing that to troll SMRPG fans. Sports Mix even had a Star Road and (to my understanding) Culex's jewels. Hate to say it, but Square is just rubbing the Geno thing in our faces.

Maybe they'll REALLY start trolling by putting Ma Mole and Pa Mole in as an Ice Climber duo.

I would be happy if that was wrong.
I actually would like seeing Geno in action.
Anyway, I think Sora will finally have a chance of being in SSB4 as an AT.
A playable character is very unlikely.
