I've used Audacity for a number of years now but have never quite known what I'm doing with it and am just looking for some people to give me some straight forward, plain English advice.

Essentially, I have some clips that are not of wholly terrible quality, but kinda crappy and suffer some clipping, slight trouble with acoustics and a little background noise. Is anyone able to advise me how to fix these things? A bit?

I don't claim to be an expert, but you can try to fix background noise with some playing around with low-pass or high-pass filters.
