It can also punish people recovering high, and it's good for reads
Recovery mixup instead of using spring

Can someone test if fthrow -> side-B is a true combo? I always get the impression when playing that if you just spammed a move or airdodge you would avoid it.

F-throw -> LSD is still a decent mixup if you're in a situation where it would kill earlier than U-throw -> Spring -> U-air I guess. Plus it looks cool :).

You need to Up-b out of hitstun (best to just hold up-b after getting hit), then when the up-b starts you need to hold down. This has to also be done quite fast, you can react to your up-b going off, but you might also be able to predict when you get out of hitstun to start pressing down earlier.
