Yes, the fact that he rises slowly with superior protection from above makes the recovery safe enough to ignore relying on the ledge. If he went up quickly and gained a lot of vertical distance, he can't recover above the ledge as you could just simply dodge his recovery with a roll/spot/shield, then punish. If he went up slowly for a longer period of time, then you can punish his move by jumping past him, then air dodge, then punish from below.

I think one of the major issues Ichigo got hit with is the added "shunpo" effect and how it made most of his attacks slow (F-Air is the only saving grace). Even his evasion animations are freaken slow and the invincibility frames are screwed up.

You mean his roll? Actually that also happens with Naruto, the devs probably didn't compensate enough for the invincibility frames for their moves, same with Yoshi as well. Actually, some of his attacks got a little faster. Up tilt is faster, f air is the same as last demo from looking at it, but it pushes you forward, nair is fast, dash attack is much more useful due to the added shunpo effect. The only one that didn't need the shunpo effect is down smash. @bye If someone were to spot dodge, they would still get hit due to their height. Air dodging to miss the move isn't really a safe move for certain characters so I wouldn't recommend that.

I remember doing bair once and it killed my friend from the opposite direction it's pretty funny whenever that hitbox happens and jank does not equal bad to me

That happens with different attacks, just not Ichigo's.

YEAH I KNOW
We're talking about Ichigo here, not other characters. That's why we're in this specific character section instead of having everyone put in one thread.
I wasn't complaining about his bair hitbox, jeez man.

Ummm are you okay? It appeared that you got angry over something silly. I know we are talking about Ichigo, I was telling you that his bair isn't really jank when other attacks act that way. I never said you were, calm down.

It just feels like you're persistent over things in the forums sometimes.
Besides that, ground-canceled fair into dsmash is funny.
But at the same time it's suicidal unless you're careful.

What? Anyway, I think adding more hitstun to Ichigo's up air will give him better juggling and combo ability. Anyone else want to add anything?

I find Ichigo's Up-Air to be a little misguided on what it really wants to be. It has godlike range, but it doesn't kill unless you use a setup like uthrow-uair. It combos pretty good in lower percents, but honestly I don't have a good use for it at higher percents. uthrow-uair's the only thing going for it by around 110 :/
Imo there's more than enough hitstun for him.
Maybe decreasing knockback or reducing its endlag would be better.

Up throw to up air isn't a real combo on anyone who isn't a high or fast faller. Anyone not in these two categories can escape it easily, if they react fast enough which should be easy. At death percentages, its up tilt to up air which also isn't always guranteed. My problem with it that its hitbox still doesn't cover the entire animation of the move.

That part of the attack has no hitbox. It really bugs me from time to time since I would love to do landing UAirs into something but that kills it...but you know? At least it's not Jab 3. Yeah.

Thanks man, the final hit of jab got the treatment of a fixed hitbix, but these two haven't.
