The German Pirate Party saw a surge in support in Berlin's recent state elections, with all 15 of its candidates winning seats in the state parliament.

Now that my account is fixed, I had to post here (it IS my country).

I seriously thought those guys were a joke; however, I guess I can't say that after 15 seats on the Bundestag. Their ideas are a little odd though: they focus so much on pro-piracy digital rights they don't really have a policy for running the country.

I find the whole movement disturbing. It's a group of people who are pro-theft; what's next?

Reminds me an awful lot of this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jedi_census_phenomenon

Quote:
In Australia more than 70,000 people (0.37%) declared themselves members of the Jedi order in the 2001 census.

Quote:
In the 2001 census, 21,000 Canadians put down their religion as Jedi Knight

Quote:
In England and Wales 390,127 people (almost 0.8%) stated their religion as Jedi on their 2001 Census forms, surpassing Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism, and making it the fourth largest reported religion in the countries.
