... 3? I thought there were 2, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass.

There's an unofficial sequel to Through the Looking Glass titled, "Alice through the Needle's Eye"

The movie wasn't fantastic but it was enjoyable to watch with the family all the same

Sorry there was only 2, but that's what I meant it's based on the second book.

It's not so much based on one book as much as it's an original story that borrows from both books.
What it borrows from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: – Opening with the hole and the doors – Size-altering recipes – Mad Hatter, March Hare, Dormouse – Cheshire Cat – Red Queen (who, let's face it, is just the Queen of Hearts) – Flamingo-hedgehog croquet – Caterpillar – Dodo – Knave of Hearts – White Rabbit – Stealing the tarts (What, no Mock Turtle and Duchess?)
What it borrows from Through the Looking-Glass: – Tweedledee and Tweedledum – Jabberwock, from the poem, as well as the Vorpal blade, the Bandersnatch and the Jubjub Bird (BTW, it's Jabberwock, not Jabberwocky) – White Queen – Rocking-horse flies and Dragonflies from the intro – Chess motif
And there's Burton's dillema: rather than creating something new and imaginative and unpredictable, like the Alice series is, he's simply copy and pasted various Alice elements into a story that is so predictable that they already predict it for you.
