What a bunch of idiots
Skullcandy will have to fight them, I'm certain they aren't going to back down
Hopefully Skullcandy will put them in their place

They aren't attacking Skullcandy yet, but I really wish they would.

Well, this is a few days late, but w/e.
Looks like us fans of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed finally got our most requested character: Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue.
He was my most wanted too.
Unfortunately, he has only been released on PC and Mobile, whereas I have the 3DS version. DAMNIT SEGA, release it to the rest of us.

And s*** like this is why freemium devs piss me off. If "saga" does end up getting trademarked for whatever godforsaken reason as well then they'll probably end up getting a pretty big hammer from Disney, considering it's still called the Star Wars "Saga" in some placed.

http://nypost.com/2014/01/19/nintendo-admits-wii-us-failure/ | | | | Quote: We all knew that the Wii U isn’t as great as it’s predecessor was, and it seems like Nintendo has just realized that, too, by admitting that the sales from it’s latest console has fallen well short of their financial expectations.
“We failed to reach our target for hardware sales during the year-end, when revenues are the highest,” Nintendo said in a statement.
“As a result, the sale of high-margin software fell far short of our projections.”
The company now expects a 35 billion Yen operating loss for the financial year, with its portable console, the 3DS also not meeting sales expectations. It’s the opposite of the 100 billion Yen profit the company had predicted for the year, and the third year in a row that Nintendo has operated at a loss.
This sales flop comes despite a 3-year high in consumer sales of video game consoles and US buyers spending over $1.3B in the Christmas period alone.
Satoshi Iwata, Nintendo’s president is feeling this as a major blow after promising to turn the company around after last years disastrous financial results. Acknowledging that the Wii U and its little difference from the Wii is the problem, Iwata said
“The company appears to have failed to differentiate the Wii U from the Wii,” he said. He also mentioned that his own 10-year-old son, who owns both a Wii and DS, had shown no interest in the Wii U.

Yeah, this happened. I've even heard that Nintendo is planning on completely abandoning the Wii U and working on an actual eighth-generation console. Unfortunately, I can't verify that rumor since all I have is word of mouth, but if that turns out to be true, I think it'll be for the best for Nintendo. If they make a better console with hardware on par or better than the PS4 (because we all know the XBone is a lost cause. hell, M$ had to overclock its processors just to get their launch titles to look the way they do and since those games are already using 100% of the XBone's power, that means that the XBone is never going to get games with better graphics. But enough about M$, they're not the focus here.) then they'll get more third-party support which means more third-party games which means more money for Nintendo which means more first-party games. Everybody wins! But that's just a rumor. I honestly really want Nintendo to cut their Losses on the Wii U and make something better, not because I want the company to fail, but because I want to see them do better. Anyway, what are your opinions on this?

Damn, I didn't even think it was this bad
If they actually ARE planning to make another console, I hope they ditch the wii s*** and just call it a revolution I kinda agree that they should probably implement some hardcore hardware, otherwise what's the point?

Definitely. Hardware is everything in the video game industry. And I really do think it would be beneficial for the company in the long run to vut their losses and start over with a clean slate. (And make a REAL online service that doesn't bind your games to your individual console) It's a real shame though, the tablet controller had so much potential and even Nintendo didn't even TRY to tap into it. Hell, I could think of at least three cool ways to use the tablet right off the top of my head.

Surprise, the Wii U isn't doing as well as it's predecessor, one of the most successful consoles of all time
Mario 3D gave the console a boost
Smash, Kart and Zelda will sell it just fine
Even in the bizarro world where those don't sell, Nintendo has the 3DS pouring money in
Nintendo is in no long term trouble, they've just stumbled with the Wii U's launch. People talked about the 3DS failing as well before it got a library. In a year or so we'll all think we were stupid for even discussing this
I think that already

Chances are if Nintendo is making a new console it'll probably be more like an upgraded version of the WiiU, kinda like how the DSi was. Up the specs to match other current-gen consoles and still keep the tablet.

if they started work on a new console they would pull a Sega and probably piss off the amount of people who bought WiiUs i mean i got mine in October and that's basically not a long time to have a console. to just cast aside a new console that has barely lived it's life and most of the games coming to it. Would be pretty damn stupid in my opinion. that would be a waste of 300 dollars which i didn't come by in a single week or month seeing how i don't have a paying job. telling fans welp im sorry but it just didn't work out would be probably a bigger draw back if anything.
edit: not to mention if the WiiU has been giving them financial problems think about how much of a financial problem it would be to have to make a new console and probably remake most of the games for said console
